I’m taking my lad to his first proper game against Leeds, he’s 13 but has sensory issues so matches can be a challenge for him but he seems ready for us to give it a try . I’d like to make it a bit special and get some food before the game but I don’t think he would like City square due to the crowds so was trying to think of somewhere to eat near the ground ideally but couldn’t think of anything- does anyone has any ideas?

You do know the CL is on right now? Come on blues.

You have the catering units around the ground and the chippy near Mary Ds and the Maccy Ds.

There is also Vermilion, a nice place last time I went a few years ago, up past the gas canister.

City centre is a 25-30 min walk away, unfortunately due to the time of year any pub/restaurant will be full due to the Xmas markets etc.

How are you getting to the ground and from where as if by car I'd recommend eating further away on the journey in for a quieter experience.

Can I be so pertinent as to completely and utterly recommend the fish and chips eatery on Grey Mare Lane. I have frequented this establishment on many an occasion and have only ever had good things to say. The delicacies on offer are absolutely to die for. I'm willing to put my entire reputation on the line here and confidently say there simply is no other place in the entire North West region that serves chips as fresh, fried and exquisite as on Grey Mare Lane. And the fish! Oh my word, the fish is simply divine. You really can tell they have caught them literally minutes before, gently caressed them in the worlds finest batter, carefully lowered into a light fry in their secret oil and served it to you as though heaven itself was a polystyrene plate of pure joy.

Apparently, and now don't take my word on this, as it's purely gossip, but the salt is from a 100 thousand year old mountain deep within the Himalayan mountains, just east of the Rahairputij region of Nepaliska.

I give it 5 stars. It really does make the Manchester City match day experience what it is. I've seen fans from all over the world travel here just to sample a tub of their 5 star quality mushy peas n gravy.

We have recently visited the ASDA next to the ground where they have a good size cafe serving very good Pizza's in a safe enviroment.
