Very sad news - inevitable as it is. Some on here have said a great actor - not really as he was too typecast to ever tax himself in the roles he got but one of the few surviving links with one of the all time great comedy shows has passed and that in itself is worthy of respect.

Thankfully for the memory of Clive and all his contemporaries we have the shows and early Saturday evening TV will never be dull witth the likes of Dad's Army around.
