Russia

Think it's been documented that Russia suffered 300,000 casualties in it's assault on Berlin...however it was at their insistence.
They had an eye to how they wanted the future of Europe to develop.

More than a few novels, plenty of classical music, ballet, pioneered earth orbiting satellites, some outstanding artists, oh and saw off Messers Bonaparte and Hitler. Little known fact: in the final weeks of the assault of Berlin, 50,000 Russians died.
Yeah, but apart from that.
