Serious Question About Asian People....

Ok im asian myself so i cant be seen or called Racist or anything else which is bad in this matter....ok as random as this is here is my question i pretty much need to ask somebody this right now...why is it that the majority of counties in the world (apart from the U.K. or Ireland) when talking or asking about asian people more then half the time people think directly about Eastern Asian people? i.e. Koreans , Chinese , Japanese or vietnamese etc etc yet they completely forget about other asian countries?? not that it annoys me all the time but why do half the people of this world have this stereotype?

S'pose that puts me together with the other half of the world, then. I never immediately think Far East, nor do I immediately connect with the Middle East, although Asia encompasses everywhere from about east of Turkey. Somewhere in between?

Anyway i guess you mean The USA rather than the majority of countries;i think it probably relates to your geographical location to Asia as to which country springs to mind when you mention the forementioned continent.Or as in your case, your heritage..does it matter?

To be fair, that's more than half of the World's Asian population

Maybe the question should have been why do the British, unlike the rest of the world, think of Asians mainly as Indian/Pakistani, I'd guess it's because of the empire connections.
