The United player updated his status shortly after 1pm to say: "Time for the talking to stop and the game to begin, can’t wait. United fans believe." Fans posted more than 1,000 comments on his page within minutes of his message from inside the United camp. United and City players have been uncharacteristically quiet on their social media pages today with all the main stars observing a Twitter silence so far. Even prolific tweeter Rio Ferdinand has resisted the temptation to share his thoughts with fans on the site.
