Songs where the regular singer doesn't sing!

How about where a group doesn't have a lead singer?

The group called The Band had 3 main vocalists, Rick Danko, Levon Helm & Richard Manuel,

Here's a song written & sung by the guitarist bloke, who rarely got a look in on the vocals despite 'writing a couple of good songs' ;-) for them and for his later, solo career. It's not surprising that he didn't get a look in with the other 3 vocalists, particularly Levon.

Here's Robbie Robertson as lead vocalist of The Band:

Hotel California - The Eagles

Don Henley sings that! He is as much the lead singer as Glen Frey. Like Fleetwood Mac, the Eagles don't have just one regular singer.

Some that I like:

The Rolling Stones: "Before They Make Me Run" sung by Keef.

Kiss: "Hard Luck Woman" sung by drummer Peter Criss.

The Who: "Blue, Red and Grey" sung by Pete Townshend.

The Who: "My Wife" sung by John Entwistle.

Some of Smashing Pumpkins songs were sung by James Iha.

Blew Away is one good sound of his, from Pisces Iscariot.

Theres also Goodnite sung by Billy, James, Darcy and Jimmie.

Then there is Linkin Park with Mike Shinoda.

Talking of the Who, I prefer this version to the original Daltry vocal

I like Pete's vocals generally and that is a nice version but not better than The Who doing it.

Well, maybe I should say all the best Beatles stuff was written by Harrison. It just usually happened that when the **** Macca allowed him to contribute he didn't want to bother singing the stuff.

Only actual artist in the group, Harrison was. Lennon took drugs and wrote nonsense while Macca was concerned with making forgettable pop dross. And money.

Gotta disagree, and pretty strongly. Much as I liked George, he was well behind both McCartney and Lennon as a songwriter (he only began holding his own as the Beatles began to collapse in on themselves) and as a lead guitarist was distinctly average.

Laughable
