Not sure how I missed this as I'm usually pretty up-to-date with news like this. The teams we will be playing against for the Mandela Day celebrations as our first (announced) pre-season friendlies have now been unveiled, for those who are interested. Those teams are Amazulu and SuperSport United - two mid-table clubs in South Africa's "Premier Soccer League" (top tier).

AmaZulu & SSU To Face Man City
18 June 2013

After months of speculation as to who English Premier League side, Manchester City, will face in South Africa, it has been confirmed that their opponents will be SuperSport United and AmaZulu.

City announced earlier this year that they would be heading to Mzansi to take on two PSL outfits, although wouldn’t comment on which two teams would be taking part.

It had originally been thought that Kaizer Chiefs would be one of their opponents, with the Amakhosi having had talks with the organisers, Matchworld, although they will now not be taking part.

Usuthu’s official website confirmed the two South African clubs involved, stating that they would be hosting City on July18th, four days after Manuel Pellegrini’s men take on Matsatsantsa in Gauteng.

AmaZulu’s marketing manager, Lunga Sokhela, said in a statement, “We have reached an agreement with the event organizers which is Matchworld and as of now we will play Manchester City on the 18th July. All details pertaining to tickets sales will be released soon.”

The games will be taking place as part of the Mandela Day celebrations and will be dedicated to former President, Nelson Mandela.

City have not included these two fixtures on the full fixture list so far?

Here's one for you agenda followers out there:

BBC site has taken the effort to publish the scum's pre-season schedule

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/teams/manchester-united/fixtures

and the rest of the Old Sky "4" friendlies but not bothered with City

To be fair, the scum announced their opponents a few weeks back IIRC. A few days ago we had 7 friendlies planned but only one (Arsenal) known opponent across all of them.

We're gonna be knackered by Christmas with all these long distance friendlies , and all this travelling .... not too mention league games coming thick and fast !
