Stan Bowles RIP

A real naturally talented player , fell out with our management and was bombed out of the club , he deserved to play at a top club and wouldnt have looked out of place in today's game , a player who got bums of seats.
Thanks for the memories Stan , a maverick of the modern game , RIP
 
Born in Collyhurst (which I didn't know), and Played 17 times for us in the late 60s....

Obviously, he'll be better remembered for his time at QPR. A very good player in the era of Tony Currie, Frank Worthington, Duncan Mackenzie etc etc. Sleep well Stan.

City buying Rodney Marsh left a gap at Loftus Road and when QPR signed Stanley he found his true home and flourished. I think QPR fans voted him their best ever player. A great talent who entertained the thousands who watched him.
 
Stan was a great entertainer. His antics away from the club caused problems for the management and he was shifted on. RIP Stan.
