this prick doesn't even know the rules. a team has to be down to 6 players before the ref has to abandon the game. in 2002 west brom were leading 3-0 10 minutes from the end after sheffield united had 3 players sent off and 2 left the field injured. the ref abandoned the match only when they were down to 6. and the score stood as the final result.

desperation.

If them fuckers do win it all these redcafe threads are going to look fucking stupid!!!!!!!!
Disagree...this underlines their desperation at this minute, regardless of the outcome. A few short weeks ago they were celebrating their 20th title. Its gone from that to widescale disbelief and self delusion. Even if we dont win it I'll be taking note of just how much their 'experience' has benefitted them, or not as the case may be.

kietotheworld is either a wise rag or a blue on the wind up...

We outspend everyone other than Chelsea and Manchester City, maybe not on transfers, but on transfers and wages combined. You think it's purely down to Ferguson's talent that we've been highly successful, and the fact we've had the highest budget bar the oil clubs is just a coincidence? I think that's a bit naive. The reason we got Ferguson in the first place was because we were a big club with a lot of cash.

It makes it more competitive. Imagine if Manchester City hadn't had their investment, how boring this season would have been from a neutral point of view. Tottenham providing the only challenge which drops off like an anvil in March as United saunter to another title, even more easily, with Samir Nasri in our midfield. If City easily win the League every year as it looked like Mourinho's Chelsea might start to do, then it is bad for the game, but them being elevated from the middle of English football to the top, it's only harming the teams at the top. The Premier League as a whole is more attractive for it.

In a League where success is rewarded by money, and money generates success, what makes you think United wouldn't have strengthened their position if we were by far the richest club in the country?

If City hadn't been around then we'd have been more likely to get those excellent players that you mention than the less wealthy clubs would have been. Maybe some of them would have stayed in Spain if City hadn't come calling, the likes of Silva and Aguero, but I don't think Arsenal would have been much stronger, and that'd have been offset by our strength. Certainly I'd have expected us to get Nasri this summer if not for City's involvement, Evra was publicly courting him. In any case, Arsenal had Nasri and Clichy last season, as well as Fabregas, and they still finished 12 points behind

Cheesy
The problem isn't purely these rich billionaires buying clubs; it's the harsh truth that it's the only way for smaller sides to get to the top now. I'd actually rather see it in a way so that we have fresh challengers every once in a while.

Fair play to those who've got their heads screwed on and actually
a.) remember football was around before 1992
b.) realise football is a game of money, look at the US, and how their sport is continually increasing it's wages, it's called inflation and happens in all sectors of economy and finance.
c.) self generated? you mean encouraging every one around the country to give you money after the Munich air crash, and then offering sponsorship deals on the memorial? Profiting off a disaster. And even getting loans from City, loaning players to the club.

I agree with the video, it was the best thing that ever happened to them.

"Also for the Abu Dhabi family, they could give two shits about the club. For them, it's business"

I fucking lold hard.

Yeah I am sure all the Glazer's grew up dreaming of the day they could watch their idols play.
Our boss has a genuine love for sport and not just the cash it can make him, indeed he is speculating with us which is paying dividends in other areas of operation.

Nobody could spin your owners to look even half way interested in Utd beyond the financial assets that they can strip of the club.

The op goes on about how much we have spent "recently" and basically carries on in a vague general moan about us doing well and how he dislikes this.

One for the gallows in the new world order me thinks.
