Sunderland U21s V City U21s

Christ, even the U21s can't avoid the shambolic journalism sweeping the nation.

EVEN AT Under-21 level, Manchester City are a moneybags operation whose cheque book can see them prevail.

Young striker Jose Pozo, largely kept under wraps at Eppleton CW last night, set City back £2.5million as a 15-year-old three years ago, while an 8,000-seater stadium now sits in the shadows of the Etihad.

City spare no expense. After all, just one player who comes good in their big bucks fishing net will pay for the rest.

With that background, it made the 1-0 victory for Sunderland U21s - who had already beaten City last month in the U21 Premier League Cup - all the more satisfying, as they made the visitors look, well, ordinary.

That's as bad and cliche as it gets.

So the stadium seats has been rounded up to the next multiple of a thousand. Presumably 8k sounds better than 7500.

And if we spared no expense why have we not got Messi, Ronaldo, Lewandowski, Neuer, Pogba, Flatcao, Hazard and Uncle Tom Ibrahimovic on the bench. Jealous, bitter, twisted hack!

And yet the guy scoring the winning goal, and a hat trick last time we played them, comes from that local boys team in Boulogne-Billancourt in Paris, a suburb of Wearside

Is that match report from a national media or some local blogger?

They're also incorrect in stating 8,000 seats, which is patently obvious if they but looked.

This kind of reporting, is a clear example of how (what some describe as) the 'agenda' works. People take the piss, but it is genuinely having a bad effect on the way the club is perceived.

Enough so called 'neutral' reporters, do their stories with a certain slant, & in the end, people look at City through those eyes. This is not a one off, this is typical of how we are viewed by so many people in the game, & it's purely down to the way the media portrays our club. Several of our opponents at this level have actually finished a game thinking they have lost to a bunch of foreign signings, due to being brainwashed by the constant bollocks in the media. 'What can we expect against a team full of expensively assembled players from all round the world?'

Some on here who think it's deluded to complain about it, should actually have a look at themselves in that respect & take their heads out of the sand.

Frustrating as well because there's 6 English lads and an Irishman in the XI that played. The implication is that the whole U21s side is made up of signings like that and it's not the case.
