This hrs long bag of shite called american football isn't worthy of the name

Its a probably well meaning sport that has been franchised and turned into a closed shop which then sold its soul to commercialism especially TV to make a one hour game into a 3 hour adfest with a bit of running throwing and kicking in the middle of pundits that probably piss American viewers off as much as those on our TV do and loads and loads of adverts - oh with an overblown half time show thrown in too.

I say all that for one reason - we have to ensure that the American owner/TV coverage lobby do not succeed and do the same to our top flight football.

It’s not that difficult to understand. 4 downs, 3 to try to ge the first down, the fourth to punt/field goal it unless right near the Endzone.

Flag on the play. Referee is mic’ed up and you get to hear the result of the penalty, even if you don’t fully understand the “holding, unnecessary roughage etc” calls.

There’s enough time between the plays for the commentators to show you exactly what happened on each play anyway.

Probably helpful if you were able to watch when Channel 4 introduced it to UK audiences - in those days TV took the time to inform its viewers ( they did the same with Aussie rules ) whereas nowadays its assumed an audience knows what they are looking at and only want to know what team Snoop Dog supports and likes to be spoon fed articles about products unavailable in the UK - see rags and Chevrolet sponsorship

A fannies version of the CFL. 4 downs instead of three and a smaller field? You're having a laugh.
It's like making the nets in the premier league twice as big and not having a goalie.
Plus we could get tickets for a dollar and go sit anywhere and make offensive remarks to the cheerleaders at the Argo's games. A decent chance you take one home as well if you went to the Wheatsheaf right after the game.

My brother worked in Indianapolis while they were NFL winners 2007? He and his (English) mate went to a game....his mate fell asleep at half time, and had to be woken up at full time, and no, he doesn't drink.....sums the game up for me!
