It's random in the sense that it could have happened to any Asian-looking person. I'd say a targeted attack is more when you attack a specific person for a specific reason.Thread title totally misrepresents it. It wasnt random, it was a hate crime and so deliberate and targeted

I wasn't trying to misrepresent anything. I didn't want to write a sensationalist headline like White racist stabs Muslim doctor because at said time I knew little info. I'd happily change the title now though.
