I asked trevor sinlair if he ever nearly signed for city earlier in his career and he replied that the only time was when peter reid got him and alan wright (left back ended up at villa) down to city when they were at blackpool showed them maine road etc and a deal was in place to pay a million for the pair of them but swales vetoed the deal'That summed us up perfectly at the time. Wasn't it the same sort of thing that stopped us signing Trevor Sinclair the first time round?
