The 'nearly' signings of modern day City

George graham was given £100 thousand retainer from Leeds as soon as Leeds knew we had talked to him? Has for that numpty Bassett, he was about to join us but decided the morning he was about to sign stating he had a nightmare in his sleep so it was an omen for him not to join, what a clown

Les Ferdinand, remember the summer MUEN back page headline "Yes says Les" all a ploy to get season ticket renewals

Other one who I thought would do a job was Nir Biton, now at Celtic? We didn't sign him as he was still in the army/WP problems.

'That summed us up perfectly at the time. Wasn't it the same sort of thing that stopped us signing Trevor Sinclair the first time round?
I asked trevor sinlair if he ever nearly signed for city earlier in his career and he replied that the only time was when peter reid got him and alan wright (left back ended up at villa) down to city when they were at blackpool showed them maine road etc and a deal was in place to pay a million for the pair of them but swales vetoed the deal

The people who said Steed Malbranque back in 2011 were spot on. We were linked with him every window from about 2002-2008!
