Paschendaele by Lynn McDonald is a wonderful book.

100 hundred years on from the start of that quite hideous battle.

Go to Ypres if you can. A quite beautiful Flemish town. The Menem Gate ceremony is beyond comparison

No not read that one. I have problems concentrating long enough so read few books and mostly stick to visual and audio entertainment. First heard about Gladwell from his talk about "Spaghetti Sauce" on You Tube.
