Saw him many times. Great player and a hard bastard too at a time when there were plenty around. Rarely got the better of Buzzer & Frannie though. RIP.
my memory of him was he was hard as nails, dippers version of norman hunter, didn't they have him out for a cup final a few years back? walked with sticks if I remember correctly. defending has changed a bit since his time

Could never hate him for it though. Think he was a character and never complained when on the receiving end.

Top bloke was tommy smith,hard as nails and part of a great Liverpool team of the seventies,but the likes of him couldn’t exist in today’s game they’d be off after only a few mins..R.I.P..
