Just had a look at that train journey you need to change at Newport,also 19 stops between Manchester Piccadilly and Newport then another 1h 15 minutes from Newport to Swansea,must be the scenic route lol.

You got a better way to get there? 4 hours 50 minutes in total going via london is 6 and unless they've moved Swansea overnight it's the most direct/quickest/cheapest route to go.
