I thought this was always the case. City going to the CAS was a pre-emptive move and a declaration of intent. The UEFA process will obviously have to run its course. That has been made clear in previous coverage. Lipton is clueless. I presume that City know a ban is coming and that's why they have been so strong in their attack on UEFA. We have publically said the process is biased and our commercial rivals have been involved in a campaign against us. That is as clear as day. We are putting all our eggs in the CAS basket because we know we will never get a fair hearing from UEFA which is riddled with corruption.
I can't see why it's obvious at all, I'd have thought it would be in UEFA's interest to hold fire until the CAS decision is revealed. After all if they announce a ban and then CAS come out and say the investigation was seriously flawed they'd going to look even more stupid. And of course if they do announce a ban then we'd immediately appeal against it (I presume the appeal is time limited) which would put another case in front of CAS.

This is pure click bait by The Scum, I've no doubt it's correct that UEFA can continue but I just can't see them doing it.

This statement coming out prior to next season's UEFA draw makes you wonder if City appealing to CAS early meant anything to CAS.
I was assuming they wouldn't even look at it until UEFA had concluded their process.
It appears that now having read it, CAS have informed UEFA to proceed with whichever way they see fit.
Immediate ban incoming methinks

But there's nothing to suggest that CAS have come to any conclusion on City's submission, they've just said (apparently) that their deliberations needn't delay whatever processes UEFA are going through - I'm not sure that City ever expected that they would.

Of course there will be a ban. The old G14 are demanding one. The fact UEFA are clearly a kangeroo court will cone out in any CAS judgement. So if UEFA want the ban to stick, they should wait for CAS to rule on FFP process issues. Then at least they would have another bite at the cherry at banning us properly. If they continue the way they are, CAS will rule against them for process violations and probably throw the ban out as well due to UEFA being an investigatory body wanting to fit a crime to a punishment.

It's the fact that they've actually made a statement when there was no requirement to do so

Some journos are wanting to smell blood in the water and are simply chumming it to keep the narrative going when nothing is happening during the summer football months.

It had already been established this was more a marker by City, rather than a fillabuster.

As for Lipton, he wrote two months ago a back page lead entitled 'Ban City', which resulted in the club getting angry and essentially writing the Sun's inside spread follow-up the very next day.

Lipton insisted we would be banned by FIFA within 12 days for the illegal signing of underage players.

Whilst I expect that to happen (probably for Jan and next summer windows), it is clear his timelines are bollocks.

There is no illusion from City, this is a three-pronged attack to damage us both reputationally, and to hamstring us for a year or so for others to catch-up.

I find it very interesting Bayern have been keeping their powder dry in making an official bid for Sane.

They are being briefed by their pals at Uefa at what might be coming down the pipe while Leroy is on holiday and think they can kick us in the bollocks with a low ball offer.

Fucking Sane's family are in on it.
