The winner will play Czech Republic or Denmark in the Semi-Final
UKRAINE
Probably the biggest underdogs left in the competition, scraping through in the final 3rd place spot and then winning the easiest last 16 match versus 10 men. They do have some players that could cause England danger. Yarmolenko has looked lively in this tournament but he went off injured versus Sweden, so they’ll hope he’s fit for this one, it might have been cramp. Zinchenko was heavily involved in their win over Sweden, getting a goal and an assist. They’ve already exceeded expectations getting this far but as we’ve seen so far, nobody is guaranteed a win.
Form at Euro 2020:
Netherlands 3-2 Ukraine
Ukraine 2-1 North Macedonia
Ukraine 0-1 Austria
Sweden 1-2 Ukraine
Euro 2020 goal scorers:
Andriy Yarmolenko – 2
Roman Yaremchuk – 2
Oleksandr Zinchenko – 1
Artem Dovbyk -1
ENGLAND
England’s only game away from Wembley will be this one in Rome. History was made in the last round, the first time they’ve beat Germany in the knockouts since the 1966 World Cup. There were many brilliant performances, Sterling, Walker, Stones, Maguire, Shaw and Grealish to name a few. Sterling in my opinion is player of the tournament for England and in with a shout for the award if England go far. I’m still not sold on what Southgate did against Germany, we could have been a bit more adventurous and still won. That said, the results speak for themselves and overall Southgate has done a great job, particularly off the field and behind the scenes. England haven’t scored many but they’ve not needed to, the defence has been solid.
Form at Euro 2020:
England 1-0 Croatia
Scotland 0-0 England
Czech Republic 0-1 England
England 2-0 Germany
Euro 2020 goal scorers:
Raheem Sterling – 3
Harry Kane – 1
