I work with a fair few men, and the opinion amongst them is that they are forced to make an effort on this particular day or face months and months of “the silent treatment”.
What’s everybody’s thoughts on this day? Do you make an effort for your partner?

I’m also very aware that this year “Valentines Weekend” happens to be Derby Weekend..... Will anybody be forced to make other arrangements? :o) lol

I'll be in Greece watching city hope my lass has nice time at home, I'll ring her though just so she doesn't think I don't care.

I make an effort , and usually so does the missus , to do something for Valentines Day ....... even if it's only chocolates etc ...... although BOTH of us really think the day means little , and we probably just do it as a matter of habit.

I can see why people celebrate it. Married couples who are both in full time occupations have no time to really spend time with eachother, especially if they have children. So it's nice to dedicate a day to love and forget about life's stresses.

In my own relationship, we decide not to celebrate it. Instead, we show our love to eachother every day, and see no reason to dedicate it to a special day. If things go the way we want them to, we'll start celebrating, but for now, it's not the case.
