You might need to flick through to find someone giving them away in Manchester.

Please don't do this. People selling this way are just out to make a fast buck.

If you want a kitten for nothing, go to a rescue centre or the local cats protection branch www.cats.org.uk if you want a pedigree breed and want to pay, then again don't go to a sales advert where they have "Back yard breeders" as they are selling animals that often have health problems.

I'm not a cat expert by any stretch, but I do have cats and I know how to approach the situation so feel free to PM me if you like.

been on gum tree just loads of people charging daft money for normal cats i dont mid paying 10-15 pounds anything more is just daft for a cat imo

Exactly. For example they will sell a tabby moggy as a Bengal. A rescue or Cats protection will want a donation for cost of speying or neutering but apart from that they just want them rehomed. Don't be surprised if you get knocked back either, especially if you take daughter but it might depend how old she is.

why would they knock me back my daughter is 9 but she wont be expected to care for it me and the missus would do that

I would always say go to a local shelter for a rescue cat - however if it's a pedigree cat you're looking for, I'd say get a Maine Coon. We got ours from http://www.julescoon.co.uk They're the most loving cats I've had, and perfect for kids. Though bear in mind they get quite large. Ours is a yr old and already 3ft Tail to Nose

Never heard of them before. Just googled it and they are huge!

If I saw a cat that size walking down the street, I would run the other way :p
