I watched Shalke play Freiburg on Saturday
Freiburg's Nils Petersen was booked for dissent and when the ref showed the yellow card the player's back was turned (so the player didn't see the yellow being issued) and as he was walking away was still remonstrating, so the ref gave him a second yellow and sent him off
If you go to a minute into the video you see Petersen turning round to receive what he thinks is just a yellow.

Our refs don't have the balls to do it as the media darlings would be fighting relegation with points deductions for abandoned matches.

The second yellow was rescinded on appeal and the player was allowed to play last weekend. Not that it made any difference as Freiburg were beaten

I'll delay making a comment until after tonight's match, to see how badly we are shafted by Sr Lahoz, who apparently hates Pep's guts. Then you'll see the full weight of Mr Gill's vindictiveness come into play.
