I came close with a first girlfriend a couple of times but we never went through with it. 17 / 18 age. I lost it permanently at maybe 19 (possibly 20) with a trainee teacher from Bury I picked up in 5th Ave. I blagged my way through it ok and saw her off the following morning. We bumped in to each other at a Hefner gig at Manchester Hop & Grape a month later but didn’t really say anything. A one nighter isn’t particularly romantic but it got it out of the way.
