Wolves (A) Post Match Thread

Anyone who thought we played "shite" needs to readjust their expectations and/or give themselves a good dose of realism.

City were easily the best team.

Wolves played out of their skins.

Luck went against us just as it will go for us in other games this is season.

For Christ sake, give Wolves some credit.

I am going for a lie down.

Bernardo shouldn't of come of that football pitch. Sane showed why he isn't starting and Sterling was lucky to survive 85 minites. Kompany uncertainty also created a uncertainty in the whole back four. Overall thier was far to many players who didn't perform.

fair because wolves played well, created more chances against us than most teams, had a clear game plan which worked. Yes it was a handball clearly but they got into great positions and could have scored others....in terms of the way the two teams played it was a fair result...we were poor by our standards and sloppy all over the pitch...a better attacking team would have beaten us today.

We were not poor by on our standards. Wolves stopped us from playing. Be it legal or not. That's the only concession I'll give them.

Statistically we were better and had better chances. Had that finished 2 v 1 to us it would have been a better type of reflection.

Wolves did some good things and had good shape but don't let that cloud your judgement, because in terms of the actual football match we were better than them.

Unlucky today but many players were very poor. Mendy, Kompany, Fernandinho all very sloppy.

Sane and Mahrez came on and offered nothing.

Aguero and Sterling both very good and both unlucky not to score. Laporte also good.

Gundogan started well but then disappeared.

I maintain that Delph needs to play as opposed to Mendy against teams that can hurt us. Mendy’s defending has been horrrible. Hopefully it’s just rustiness.

That was their cup final, celebrating a point. Bet they don't play like that against Liverpool, Chelsea etc.

Ref stitched us up as well, offside/handball goal, a pen on Silva, should have booked 3 or 4 of them for persistent fouling which would have effective their game plan.

But we have to be better, and overcome these issues, too many players not at it today, Kompany and Ferni looked slow and sloppy with passes, Mendy unable to play his usual game (instruction or Wolves high press?), Walker non-existent, Bernie, Gundog, Sterling all very poor. Sergio and Silva tried but poorly supported. Laporte excellent, Ederson only one save to make. Jesus did ok when he came on, Mahrez had no time to change anything, Sane was poor again.

Pep needs to get a few to hate him this week, and he's probably right, they aren't all up to speed yet.

Always going to be a hard fixture-they were 'up' for it; got v lucky and the ref allowed their strong tactics. Post world cup City were always going to be vulnerable. KDB a big loss to the team.

We could have done much better

Very sloppy and gave the ball away too many times

Gundogan is a liability.
Sane should have done better with the time and chance he got.
Mahrez as well

Many of our players didnt perform

Im really upset

Just because wolves put up a spirited effort doesn't mean they deserved anything.
Another day would of been 3-0.
4-0 with a half competent ref regarding the Silva penalty

Tbf we created most of Wolves' chances.
