To be honest, if you have someone in jail for 12 different sexual assaults of kids, you should probably just assume he did a shit load more you don't know about and not let him out at any point anyway.
Seriously though, how the fuck did he only get 5 years? The system is bizarre
Probably, either way it's bizarre to have such a short prison sentence for groping kids repeatedly, but the world did seem more tolerant of rapey old men in the past. My mum tells some horror stories about dirty old men chasing her or trying to grope girls in cinemas and it being just part of life. Presumably that's "the good old days" everyone is always wanting to bring backWasnt it because they were historical crimes and he therefore got sentenced as according to the law when he broke them, rather than the stricter sentencing guidelines these days?
Might have been better for them if they came forward during the original trialPresumably seeking justice and closure for those who complained, although clearly that's not the way it has turned out.
