Mata is a genuinely nice bloke. Shame he plays for United. He's just bought a house a few doors down from my mother-in-law too.

Is it a nice house? I look forward to reading how many garages it has in the redtops.

I hope he is a nice guy. He's a hell of a player too, not Silva but not shabby, and I fully advocate referees refereeing challenges based upon how many charity dinners you attend.

The Devil comes in many forms.
I know a couple of people who work at OT. They say he is definitely their nicest player. He goes out of his way to connect with fans, especially some of the most vulnerable, who otherwise would not get much attention. But we're veering off topic.

Had a reply today ....

Dear Mr **********

Many thanks for getting in touch with us about our recent social media post.

The picture you refer to was used after it had been filed by a national picture agency, captioned “Bertie”, and was used in good faith and in a congratulatory way to celebrate the fan’s dedication to Manchester City. None of the team on the BBC Sport website were aware of “Bertie” as being a derogatory term to describe City fans – and other City fans also shared the post and mirrored our congratulatory tone.

However, as it was never our intention to cause offence, we have now removed this post for the avoidance of doubt. We are proud of our inclusive and celebratory approach to social media and work hard to ensure we are balanced across the sporting spectrum at all times.

We’re sorry you’ve had cause for concern.

Kind regards

Katherine Tsang

Worth getting back in touch and show them this link: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/35422467 BBC Sport website explaining why MCFC fans are called Bertie from Feb2016!

Swanseas 2nd goal reported as...............Oh dear Leicester. Kasper Schmeichel goes all Claudio Bravo, crumbling to the ground as Martin Olsson's drilled left-foot shot beats him at his near post. Olsson was clean through after some neat build-up play involving Fernando Llorente and Gylfi Sigurdsson.

Sadly bravo has given them plenty of ammo

Anyone who thought that the BBC were lying over the image/photo and the accompanying caption, only need to remember that they have previous for this regarding the whole jimmy saville affair that went on,the silence now is deafening they have been caught bang to rights by blues who wouldn't be fobbed off with a lame excuse/apology...

Not directly connected to Pete or Berties, but regarding the BBC.
About 2 years ago I made a complaint to the BBC about something on CBBC. My daughters liked to watch a programme about kids trying to find partners for their single Mum/Dad. The kids involved would interview potential partners, and in one episode they had a bloke recite his favourite limerick.
It went...

'There was a young lady called Vicky,
in men she was quite picky,
she didn't like the French,
because the stench,
of their breath made her feel quite sicky.'

I complained to the BBC saying that this was racist, I pointed out that they wouldn't dream of letting this through if it was about Asians, Blacks, Muslims or the Irish.
They squirmed, came up with feeble excuses such as 'It was just a joke (to which I replied 'try using that as a defence to racism in the Crown Court..it was just a joke').
Of course one of the things they said was the old 'Sorry if you were offended'.
It went backwards and forwards for months and in the end I just said 'Look, I know you were in the wrong, you know you were in the wrong, but you just can't bring yourselves to admit it'.
Different subject but the same attitude.

Ask a rag why they are called rags and the 'istrèe boys do not gave a clue. The most ridiculous answer can be found in urban dictionary and seems to be of transatlantic origin and revolves around us wicked blues mocking lickle united when their ground was bombed. It goes unchallenged and theregore accepted by the hardo of thinking.

So why do theyt call us berties?

As far as i can recall it was articially contrived in the mid 90s just as a name to throw at us without ant specific reason. It was heavly pushed in one of the print rag zines until they settled on bitters as a preference.

Does anyone else know any more - apart fromthe Bbc are lying bastards with their recent lies.

BBC have a big report on the lack of drug testing in football. This is one of the lead images.

I guess we left ourselves open but the wording makes it sounds like it was a Ferdinand situation where he never turned up rather than a training program needed to be updated.
