Complaint to BBC regarding Pete the Badge

I was referencing what you said here : I don't think the Poster of the tweet would have know the reason behind the original welcome to Manchester slogan
It is inconceivable that whatever BBC sport flibber who posted that message did not understand the original slogan, inconceivable. The sly winky thing shows it.

Fair enough, we'll have to agree to disagree. The sly wink just shows to me that it's taking the piss out of something, which in context to the overall post would be the fact that he is now scoring goals. I do get you could interpret it as just the second sentence though

If anyone from the BBC is reading this thread and my bet is there there are a few please take note.

We City fans are also voters and the abuse of the position of the BBC leads me to believe that they no longer merit the charter.

Therefore, wherever possible in future I will use my vote to see the BBC removed from its privileged position.

Taking against one of the nation's most important institutions and one of the few bastions against commercial dominance and lowest common denominator broadcaster because some idiot Rag sent a stupid tweet is utterly childish.

Not to mention it has been the nations leading 'Nonce Nest' since it's glorious inception. Hats off to Auntie I say!

In your opinion. I also, along with many, don't think they are one of the nation's most important institutions. Their news is biased to reflect the opinions of the people at the top and a lot of their journalists and that is before we even start on their sports coverage!

I am proud that as Blues we won't take it lying down and think that a man like Pete should be defended against some rag c**** thinking he is being clever with his equally moronic chums and using his so called impartial platform to take the piss out of him publicly.

I hope we escalate the fight, we have absolutely nothing to lose as they couldn't be more anti City if they tried!

BBC putting a negative spin on it all.

Win a big CL game and the analysis is how we won't win the competition anyway.

This article would NOT have been written if any other English team win in the same fashion.

I think the BBC joined the race to the bottom quite some time ago. My displeasure with their behaviour is not limited to this one issue. I'll ignore the 'utterly childish' jibe.

If anyone from the BBC is reading this they're probably laughing at the fact one (probably very junior) employee sent a tweet trying to be funny has warranted 100 pages of bile.

What, the whole organisation? Just because a few who work at Salford Quays in the sport dept are Rags?

No, that was the final straw, complaints about the nation's institution which is indeed a bastion against commercial dominance have been numerous and increasing on here for quite awhile. Then, there is the fact that in reply to the complaint about this "stupid tweet" the one that denigrated a fellow City fan who also happens to suffer from learning difficulties, contained lies and untruths. It's the fact that I do care about the BBC, and what it stands for that makes me care enough to complain to them.

Guess you didn't mind the child abuse then?

To those that see the BBC as one of our most important institutions and a bastion against commercialisation.

I don't believe that has been been true for quite some time. They are no better than their commercial counterparts in most areas and do not therefore deserve the privileged position they hold. All imho, of course.

Therefore I would happily see the BBC scrapped as it is no longer fit for purpose. Their treatment of City is just one issue in a sea of shite spewed forth by our wonderful BBC.

I might be getting a bit picky here, but at 08:00 this morning, the BBC's rolling Sports Pages kicks off.
"Good morning, welcome to the sports pages" blah, blah. At 08:11 they mention the City game after 11 minutes of Rooney wank/nonsense:

Moving on...

Manchester City played last night. And they won

Exactly - why would saying 'welcome to manchester' be taking the piss out of city?

So it's not down to the tweet, it's just not liking the BBC anyway.

For what it's worth I made my views clear about 80 pages ago. BBC sport should apologise and admit they got it wrong. But complaining that this breaches the charter is like complaining that your rights under the NHS constitution have been abused because the GP receptionist was a bit short with you.

Plenty of snowflakes on this thread. Jesus, we've been vilified since 2008 and people are still getting upset?

Grow a thick skin and enjoy the bitterness

1000 comment thread and I don't even understand the insult.

Someone care to explain?

EDIT: OK I understand now... Such an over reaction in here it's embrassing. The person who posted it in the first place has probably had a right laugh reading this. Don't fall for the trolls that's Internet lesson number 1.

Back to the "The Cellar" for me I think.

I hate that term snowflake, it's so stupid.

I would say some are moaning buggers(myself included), but then the bbc do tend to annoy not just on football but polotics, back slapping self congratulationary shows and nowt but repeats on bbc 2.
