Complaint to BBC regarding Pete the Badge

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!! One of the main reasons I hate those bastards with a passion!! Never forget either that that despicable banner was allowed to stay there by the club and at the time it looked like we would never win a trophy again. Fucking vermin!
The club used to take it down for concerts and put it back up again afterwards.

Utter scum and that just confirms it. I worked with a rag who had a watch with this on it, I have no idea where he got it from but it kept ticking over every year. Needless to say he lived down South and had rarely been to the swamp.

I have no doubt it was done deliberately, probably by some Southern rag who moved down here when they relocated, thinking he was a big smart arse amongst the lads. There is no way the name Bertie would be plucked out of the air and why add a name anyway if it isn't the correct one?
Somebody at the BBC will know who pressed the button on this, but they've already brushed it under the carpet and shut the door on it. As far as they are concerned it's no case to answer on their part. MASSIVE C**T's!

The only good thing is they will not be able to get away with it next time around.

If no-one at BBC Sport knew that Bertie is a derogatory name used by rags I'd be asking why they arent employing people that do know something about the game.

It's hardly a secret.

And i would say they were lying bastards who lack both personal and journalistic integrity.

Perhaps the office girl who gave the deceitful mealy mouthed excuse might gave asked 'Why call him Bertie then and why are you all smirking like adolescent school boys?

Sub murdoch type attitudes
from pur national broadcaster. How low can theyget - a victim
of Downes Syndrome next?

Let us not forget the era from whence the term Bertie was forged and the spirit in which it was conveyed.

Let us never forget.

Ironic there are empty seats in the background

Presumably the photo must have been placed in some kind of context by the agency or whoever filed it otherwise it would be meaningless to some recipients. Couldn't the BBC just have copied the information that came with it? If I sent a photo to someone professionally, I'd include something about what the subject was, and when it was taken.
Incorrect. Photos are taken and then sold without captions. Outlets pay for the photo, they add the caption

I've had some experience of picture libraries. They have catalogues of pictures that are tagged. They'd search for a photo of a Manchester City fan and they'd come up with the one of Pete. There would be no caption with it, just the photo. They'd buy the photo then add the caption as they saw fit. As I explained, they'd previously used that photo (which they'd have bought or was part of their own stock) with a non-derogatory caption but then changed the caption. It's 99% certain that the caption was added by someone at the BBC.
I would say it isn't 99% certain, I would go as far as saying 100%

Out of the male names they could have chosen they come up 'Bertie' and claim they were unaware. Yeah right as Bertie is such as well used name these days. Bollocks I say. They are lying through their teeth 100%

No that's not how it happened Marvin. They buy the picture from the agency, not the caption. They then caption it and they've used it before (about a year or so ago when I saw it) with the caption "I wonder who he's supporting today?" Do you understand so far?

So they've got a stock picture of Pete that they've used before but someone at the BBC presumably added the derogatory caption on Sunday. When they were challenged, they reverted to the earlier caption.

Syndication ..They bought the picture and not the quote.

Is peter the tarquin or pete the rag any more acceptable
Broadcasting scum hang your heads in shame..eternal shame !
The purple nosed one sniffed your bile !
