If this is it for Arsene, what are the chances another manager lasts twenty years at a top club in European football?

Much of what you say is true, but for the last dozen years he's been responsible for team after team that is mentally brittle and has no backbone. So much of professional sport is won in the head. In that sense, Wenger has been pitifully deficient.

Your right GDM and we know of his reluctance to buy and what they have been lacking but for all he has achieved and what he has done for that club and English football it just seems a really sad end to an era.

Maybe he places too much faith in people, and is foolish to do so but those players have once again let him down. They still have achieved top four finishes year after year, the ofd cup, and regular progression in the Champs lge though. He has still achieved a lot in those times.

I cannot take any pleasure from seeing this happen to Arsene.

The guy has been a wonderful manager, produces technically gifted sides who play football the right way and deserves better than a bunch of goons slagging him off to ensure their 30 seconds of fame.

He will be a massive loss to the English game when he leaves.
In some ways, yes. In others he's a "I didn't see it" **** who moaned like fuck about City's money and has not been good in Europe or the Prem for ages because he allows his teams to have defeatist attitude and the balls of mice.

The era ended 10 years ago though.

I've said it before but Claude talks a lot of sense. I know he rants a lot but he can be constructive in his criticism too, and often gives the opposition credit as well. He said after the Liverpool game that there was no point in just Wenger going - Kroenke and the board have to fuck off too and he's spot on IMO.

Spot on.

I too like Claude. All the others on there are nailed on morons on the Binet scale.

Wenger is yesterday's man. An idealist who has refused or been unable to move with the times

I don't think getting them into the top4 has been a particularly big achievement, seen as though they have had bigger budgets and better players than most of the league.

Think of the team with Overmars, Petit, Viera, Anelka, Berkhamp, etc. Now look at the current mob. No personality, no minerals and generally a bunch of young millionaires on Easy Street with no one of not challenging them to do better

I feel for Wenger to a degree, but he's brought it on himself also, he could have strengthened properly at any time, but he chose to do it on the cheap, and he reaps what he's sown. He does play football the right way, yes, but I won't excuse the shit he's thrown our way since our takeover, so f*ck him frankly.

As for not taking any pleasure, I can, a large number of Arsenal supporters are some of the biggest wankers/mard arses in world football, I've no sympathy with them at all, and all summed up nicely by their protest before tonights game.

With Sanchez laughing on the bench. I find it funny but if he was our player doing that? Well it's not so lol. And no sympathy for Wenger from me.
