Stoke post match thread

Correct. Obvious to all but pep and plastics.
It is all about how the manager prioritizes the various competitions.

Chelsea are not playing in Europe and still did not turn up for EFL cup. They are going for PL and FA Cup.

Pep had more options and he I think wisely decided to de-prioritize EFL Cup early on in the season. At this point in season he had to decide where will he put his best team and I think on his list Champions league is number one but today he showed his hand and seem to indicate PL is not such a priority.

I do not agree with him and would have preferred giving it all in PL even with odds against us. Going for the FA Cup and being happy with top 4 seems so like Arsenal.

Really !! And you`ve been watching the Blues since ?? The guy gets through an awful lot of work, yet because he isn`t the most gifted of players he`s shit ?
Unfuckingbelievablejeff !!
Junior blue mate. First season ticket as a 13 year old in 1995 Kippax stand lower BB block row 32 the first season it was built. Watched us relegated with five managers in one season. Followed City throughout the Nationwide division one and two. Loved city since I was a little kid had season card as an adult at Etihad and COMS for the last 10 years. Who the fuck are you to question me anyway muppet?

I've seen shit players, many of them. Dickov used to work hard like Navas too but even he scored in a shite team at a shite time and even though he was a midget he would get stuck in for the team.

When have you seen Navas ever put his foot in for the team?

Here here

Could and should have won it from a couple of kevs balls in at the end. Sane really disappointed me with his finishing. Game was flat but there's always a chance of that when so many fans can't be arsed turning up

Sure all hopes on that only, not getting too excited looking at Barc today though.

We've already beat them this year.

They are a superior side, of course, but we can still win in a 90 minute game.

FA Cup is our best chance for silverware this year, but get past Monaco and there's a chance...

Is that because he is always shit?

No goals in the last three years in the league.

I'm a fan of naval I think he's been far better than so many give him credit for but his time is definitely up. The team is playing class above now from what he is capable of. The most frightening thing of all is that it looks like his pace has gone! Navas without pace is like lolo ferrari without her Tits - dead

I was watching this match and Barca, I noticed they were using a 3-4-3 with no fullbacks to break down PSG who pretty much sat deep. This reminded me of the EDS game vs Everton, Everton sat back and we played as a 3-4-3 no fullbacks, 6 midfielders and a striker like Barca. I believe we need to try something like this next season when we have the personnel because while 4-3-3 is great against teams that press you, it doesn't offer enough against teams who sit back.

I think next season this would work with something like this:

Gabriel Jesus - Aguero - Patrick Roberts
Sane - Silva - Kevin - Sterling
Stones - Kompany - Otamendi

Here Sane and Sterling provide width and Jesus and Roberts are like wide attacking midfielders which I think they can do. The EDS back three of Humphreys - Tosin - Latibaudiere circulated the ball perfectly looking for the through balls to the front 5 and that would work here. I think the reason back 3 has failed for us in the past is because Pep gives Kolorov the license to push up, in a back 4 this is a fine because Clichy stays back to let him do this, but in a back 3 your CB's don't have the freedom, they must play long passes and resist the temptation to push too high.

Just curious if anybody thinks we can pull this off for teams who sit back (the above front 7 looks really strong to me) a back three of stones-kompany-otamendi looks decent to me as well.

Here Here? Calling people that has forgot more than the pair of you combined know a fucking muppet gets a here here?
Try to form coherent and intelligible responses.

Why should someone be questioning your loyalty to City when you point out the fact that Navas is a waste of space in this team, the guy doesn't score goals, won't shoot, more often than not makes the wrong decisions. Never puts a foot in, constantly passing back to the right back. His crosses are usually garbage, when players do trust him to cross, he lets them down. His legs seem way too fast for his slow footballing brain. Never seen a winger with the ability to find opponents shins from anywhere and an uncanny ability to keep his own fans firmly in their seats.

Get past Monaco and you can never say never. It's the business end of the competition.

We've been to a semi final, already done Barca this year.

F.A cup is the realistic one but I don't think it's beyond us to win the CL.

Why should fans be attacked for expressing their frustrations?

I don't scream and ball at him during the game enliven though I feel like it. I try to stay positive, but in this forum I'm venting the frustration that this guy always leaves me with.

One or two on here tonight have shown their colours.

Never mind goals, how many assists in the last 3 years? Can't remember many. He's a very poor footballer

He's shite. His stats prove it. Everything proves it.

He runs around a lot, I'll give him that, but this team has moved up a gear and he's well out of place.

You might want to proof read the rest of your post before you try being the grammar nazi.
That is why I merely advised you should "try" to form coherent responses.

You stated: "Here Here? Calling people that has forgot more than the pair of you combined know a fucking muppet gets a here here?"

What are you on about?

When you choose to respond to another, shouldn't you be trying to make sense with what you write? Best of luck.

Just because I have had enough of Navas being a shitbag that never scores or puts a foot in, why does that mean my loyalty to the club should be questioned?

Tonight reminds me of the league cup against the rags. Crap selection, no motivation, pep clearly prioritising CL and fa cup and the players feeding off that vibe.

Well if you want to make an issue out of being a "long term Blue" then I go back to 1964/65, but seeing that you think that Navas is really shit, then over the years i have seen so may worse players than him and even more who don`t give a fuck about working for the team.
I agree that he may not be the greatest of players, but to suggest he doesn`t put "his foot in" and help the team out is nothing more than ludicrous. He was nowhere near the worst player on the pitch tonight but to suggest he`s shit because he doesn`t score is just plain daft.
Do you think that last nights game showed that he was worse than Sane,KDB,Toure and the likes ? Was he hell, but every team needs a whipping boy,but not tonight was it Navas.
