No one ever said we would, progress is all we want, especially after we've moved hell and earth to get this guy here. I'm all for giving him time, but the fact is that we have not moved forwards at all.

Players too easily knocked off the ball in the 1st half. Monaco had the desire and urgency and came out as if they wanted to win it, we came out as if we could stroll about with a 2 goal lead. KDB nightmare 1st half - needs a rest. Team much better 2nd half but in Europe you have got to be more clinical and take your chances. At least this year we went out giving it a go in the 2nd half. Monaco are a decent team and good to watch, be interesting to see how far they go.
Nb.Any chance we can get their left back for next season.

The first half was a tactical error, simple as that.... we do nothing but praise our so called 'big players' but they let us down at key moments!

Need to get rid of Aguero. We put so much into attack compromising our defence and we don't score enough. We had a great 2nd half, but drew it 1-1.

Should have gone through. Their free-kick goal was just a gamble that paid off.

We weren't really lacking in effort. Tactically speaking, we lost because Dinho couldn't bring the ball up or pass to anyone in the first half.

no complaints about that game. we were dogshit and monaco were very good, very frustrating but its been the story of our season. one thing that did jump out at me on twitter was someone that said we are currently playing with the 2 fullbacks that wenger had at arsenal 10 years ago. we have not recruited well at all and our defence is an absolute shambles, you're not going to win anything with that back four

The whole lot of them, from Pep down, were a fucking mess 1st half & because of it, we have lost to a side we could have beaten comfortably.

Monaco are fucking good, but they are shite at defending & when we pass the ball, they can't stop us. That's our advantage. So what do we do ? Pass it like wankers. Advantage Monaco.

Second half, all over them. But as is now common in big games, Aguero misses the opportunities to kill the game & the defence falls asleep & concedes yet another run of the mill goal.

This is now the routine & I don't think it will change until the players do.

First half was the worst in some time.

Second half much better and we get ourselves back in it, only to throw it all away - fucking criminal.

Some really poor individuals out there tonight. Both fullbacks, Fernandinho and De Bruyne were awful.

De Bruyne's set-plays were preposterous.

Silva unable to get in to it and Sterling looked scared to fucking death of their left fullback.

That's 100% down to Pep. Dropping one of the most in form players and playing one of the least. Then with 15 minutes to go we take the lead and he doesn't bring Yaya on for Kev???

Stones apart, the defence is shit which we know cannot be corrected until the summer. Best team won over the 2 legs. Time to focus on securing top four and maybe a cup final

We need to improve the results against the better teams. Our record this season has been poor. We have three really tough games now and the dippers will come at is just like Monaco in the first half. We need to be fully prepared for this.

Paying the price for unbelievably bad defensive transfers. The money we've spent to line up with that 4 is a fucking disgrace and heads should roll. We've scored 6 goals and gone out. Pathetic.
