Liverpool - post match thread.

Entertaining game from 2 similar sides. Worry for me is we were never really in control of the game, it was Keegan mark II.

Not sure why sergio gets so much criticism his goal scoring record is exceptional , there is'nt striker in the world that does'nt miss chances i would be more concerned if he was'nt getting chances , his movement in the penalty area is world class and he is the best at what he does. He has also took what Pep has said on board and is running his heart out for the team , will be nice to get Jesus back in the squad but he's a kid who is still learning the game.
Aguero is going knowhere unless he wants to go , every team needs at least two top class strikers it would be ridiculous to let him leave , he is a proven top class premier league striker who would walk into any team in europe , be careful for what you wish for.

Also. I don't care how much our players are getting paid to wear certain boots,
tell them to fuck them off and get some decent ones. Ones that you can stand up in. :)

That decision not to give Sterling a pen was the worst of the lot. Could have given two pens in the same incident (Aguero pulled back and Sterling wiped out) but got fuck all. The ref was shite all game as expected.

We played really well and deserved a lot more. We have played a lot more games than them and yet we looked the stronger team.

Full backs are the one priority for the summer. I don't actually think our centre backs are that bad, just constantly let down by some shocking full backs

I bet Liverpool fans will tell themselves they should have won with Lallanas chance... we had about 3 of those that went begging.

The effort today from the team was great, Liverpool were so much fresher and it showed at times but we kept in it and could have won it.

Lallana was offside!

Have to say thought the players gave their all today. Only missed chances cost us yet again. Love Aguerro but he really is missing too many now. If we can keep playing open attacking football like this and convert half the chances we miss we will be hard to beat. I think wit GJ playing today we would have finished them off. The foundations are being put in place. I think Pep will get us to where we need to be.
Totally agree ,Sergio missing too many .Time to cash in.

Still too static when we are on the ball and nearly gave it away with careless passing at the back. Happening too often. Isn't a manager paid to sort out basic stuff like that.
A manager can sort it and ours will....sometime players can't grasp what's being asked of them and we still have one or two who are struggling with Peps message...weather that's because of age especially older players as like the saying goes it ain't easy to teach an old dog new tricks...in Pep we trust...give him the players he wants and things will be so different

I agree, unless we can get someone even better. But there's probably only 4 in the world, the Barca triumvirate and Lewandowski. So keep Kun, as I doubt we'd get any of those. And you're right, we need two top strikers, no one can play 100% for about 60 games a season, or avoid injuries and cards.

Otamendi m.o.m for me. Fact is we used to have 2 quality players in every position we no longer have that now. Ref was awful. Sterling bottles another massive chance in a big game - standard. Far too many points dropped at home. 2 puts from stoke and Liverpool in last two home games is poor. Fixtures catching up with us but our bench is turd. Still lack a leader as well without vk. I prefer watching us under pep but I'm not sure we are much improved from last year really especially in terms of games against top 4/5 teams in the prem. the fact we have spent a fortune on defenders and still lack fullbacks is laughable really.

Fantastic response by the team after midweek shock. Everything against us once again, morale, physical condition, ref decisions. After all this, most teams would have surrendered following the 0-1 in the beginning of the 2nd half. It took a lot of guts to maintain our composure and keep on fighting, City came from behind once again and claimed the victory till the very last moment, against a fresh team, by far superior in terms of energy. We deserved it, I'm sad for the boys, they gave everything. Calm decisions from the bench, Guardiola tried to control the game, help the team attack while being as secure as possible at the back. He tried to improve our ballance while seeking the winning goal till the final whistle, all his actions justified...

Just listening to the manager's short post match interview. One of the happiest days in his managerial carreer he says, proud of his players. Completely agree, I would shake everybody's hand if I could be in the dressing room...

By the way, if I remember well, the prematch thread reflected anything but confidence and optimism. Now I read posts saying draw is not enough. Yeah... Well guess what, Guardiola and players agree, they never settled for a draw and did everything they could to win. Just seems they're not good enough to deserve some people's appreciation and support, are they? A shame really...

City fans should be proud of their team. Personally I was once again moved, watching City playing is really an experience...

PS. Lost for words to describe Kevin's assist. He deserves much much more, his stats should be better, if only we were more clinical. I'll say it once again, if he believes in himself he can become the best player in the world...
PS2. Had we converted the Leroy - Sergio combination, it would be the goal of the decade. World class play...
