I was just thinking about City's profligacy in front of goal, as Aguero isn't as clinical as he once was. He's still a good finisher but it's not the same. Is it age? Few seasons back, Aguero was more instinctive with his finishing. Would score goals from outside the box more often than not. Now (besides some rare outstanding moments) 6 yard area is his domain. Do you think all the nicks, knocks and injuries of years past that have prevented him from a full season are ingrained mentally and he doesn't score as instinctively as he used to? It's just a thought I had. I know he's scored recently and still does. However, if he's not really a 100%, have you noticed we draw or lose? Liverpool game for example, including the Monaco second leg.

I feel Sané and Sterling, although young and not as experienced should start aiming to shoot more. It'll probably free up space for Aguero as they may be more concerned with that. Pep has even mentioned before they sometimes don't shoot in good positions. Silva isn't going to shoot, as he weaves his magic to try and find a clear cut pass. Sterling is usually caught in two minds and he finds himself in good positions. His positioning is amazing. However, would rather pass than shoot most times. Sané will shoot more often than not but doesn't get many chances as he's forced outside quite a bit and doubled up on when he gets to the 18 yards box due to how dangerous he is. However, if he can improve his final ball and decision making he'll be much more dangerous. Yaya can't make those bustling runs like times past. KDB does the assisting.

Sitting down thinking about it, it's all, if not mostly on Aguero to do the job. I'm sure it'll be better next season. Just some thoughts and ramble from me.

Guardiola was very critical of City's finishing in the post-embargo part of press conference. He doesn't blame Aguero, but it seems to me that is the inescapable conclusion. Other forward players are culpable too, but Aguero's main job is finishing so if Guardiola is very disappointed with City's finishing than it follows he is disappointed with Aguero. He does not name Aguero, but the conclusionI came to after watching it was Aguero is on his way. The follow-up question was natural, "Is this something you can improve on the pitch? Guardiola's answer was clever but he did not say yes.

It's the most animated I have seen Guardiola, and he was impressive.

I've thought for a while Aguero was struggling. And I think if he doesn't pick up in the last few games, he will be gone.

That was a really good watch. Found his views on young English players quality and what it will take for the English team to succeed interesting. There is also no hiding his message about our finishing. 'You buy players for the qualities they bring' ' buy goals'. I think he has made up his mind about Sergio and Sergio has made his mind up about Pep. Will be a sad day, but I can see Serge leaving in the summer.
 
I agree that aguero has not been playing as well this season but am not sure whether this is terminal decline rather than carrying an injury or being asked to play a different way. I have noticed recently that he does lose the ball a lot and struggles to drop into midfield and bring others into the game but that could be I'm looking for this as we're all aware that pep has reservations.

Whatever the form of Sergio, nobody else is scoring anywhere near enough goals. Sterling is the next highest scorer with 9.

When Pellegrini's team won the league, we had 4 players who scored more than 20 goals.
 
Getting really exited about Sunday wondering which City player(s) will be clearly fouled in the opposition penalty area without a penalty being given (or outside the Arsenal box in a DOGSO situation without an Arsenal player being penalised). Added spice to see whether the City players concerned will be booked for simulation.
 
We could have played this game on Saturday but for tv on Sunday..disgraceful..very tough game..arsenal will be well up for this one..

Sterling will be favourite for the non-penalty , barring a decapitation in the penalty box , i can't see Sterling ever earning a penalty in the future and some of the decisions against him recently have been scandalous , i can only think the negativity surrounding Raheem in the media subconsciously influences the officials or it is just blatant cheating from the refs and linesmen

we have a decent recent record at the tarquins only lost three of our last ten visits ,but they will be playing out of their skin to save their manager so will be a difficult match , the first ten minutes usually gives a good idea of how we will perform , if we start half a sleep like Monaco then we will be in for a tough afternoon.
 
We will win if we take our chances given that we create dozens of them but I'm not sure I can take another game where we have dropped points due to lack of ruthlessness.
 
I'm quite negative about this game, probably 2-1 to Arsenal.

We have much better stats away from home this season, because teams come out and try and attack us which allows our forwards more space to counter etc But Arsenal are better organised than us defensively and to my mind have just as good midfield and attack as us, so I have them as favourites for Sunday.
 
Arsenal usually start their end of run winning streak around this time which seems to convince the board and some fans that Wenger should stay, however if we can't beat this Arsenal team as they currently are we don't deserve top 4.

I really want us to try and win every game or at the very least go unbeaten from now and until the end of the season, giving us that confidence and momentum going into next season.
 
With Marriner the ref for tomorrow, I won't be holding my breath. That he will do anything to help us. My guess, is that he will do his best to make sure that we will not win tomorrow. However he also owes us big time for the number of times that he has shafted us not only this season but in seasons gone by.
 
jimmygrimblesboot. My money will be on the ref having a sudden spell of blindness, just as City player is about to break through the Arsenal back 4, which just so happens at the same time as the assistant has one as well. I just hope that I am proved wrong but I won't be holding my breath.

Only time will tell. Tomorrow is must win game now. That Liverpool draw seems more annoying as Chelsea lost today. Man Utd drew their game but still have games in hand. I know a few are worried about tomorrow's result but it has to be a win. Whether it's a Jammy goal, a wonder goal, it doesn't matter. Not sure if City can catch Chelsea but if they can beat Chelsea and United, things will look very different. All the games City should've won, just mind boggling thinking about it.
 
we have a chance but we need to win tomorrow and then that puts pressure on chelski for the game at the bridge....and it will be in their minds that losing that one puts it really back on....

spurs are the ones to watch however....
 
Dont seem to win many tough away games so hopefully it's the start of a change tomorrow. Hard to be too confident though.

How are they better than us defensively, neither are great but they have conceded 4 more than us.
