Arsenal Post Match Thread.

What concerned me most about today was Pep's remark after the game. When asked if Sterling substitution at half time was tactical, Pep confirmed it was tactical because he wanted to get Yaya on to give us more control of the ball and improve our passing. I didn't need to watch 45 minutes to know that so why should the mighty Pep?

Today's starting line-up was a baffling as Monaco away.

"the mighty Pep" ? Some right wankers on here.

I was going to let the disagreement slide but due to the tone of your post i feel the need to reply.

I wont admit im incorrect cause i believe im not.
The videos were in response to someone saying you dont use your arms to jump and propell yourself forawrd...they are easy to find and didnt need any trawling...took me about 30 secs actually as its common knowledge.

Talking about issues...i dont feel the need to swear in a post to get my point across. You appear quite angry that i disagree with your point of view, yet you say i have issues...????? I leave it there...........

That will have calmed him down.

What scares me shitless is that some of the team (the ones who are in and out of the team) know they won't be in the team or at the club next season. Will those guys give their all in the run-in ?

I think Navas has the character to put in 100% no matter what but the rest like Sagna ,Clichy, Toure, Kolarov, Otamendi may not be too bothered. We're definitely in a fight for that 4th place so Pep might have to keep his cards close to his chest and tell the lads you're playing for a new contract even though we all know they're goners come the end of the season.

We have only signed Stones so far and whereas he has been nothing like as bad as some critics would have you believe, he is still very much a work in progress.

A work in progress who would be greatly enhanced by a partnership with Vincent Kompany now that he is fit to play............ but hey Vincent can't be a mentor sitting on the flaming bench!!

I just got back. Quite simply the draw was the right result from how we both played. Simple as that

Pep will have us sorted. A work in progress, we have some old time players who have served us well but will be shipped out. Pep's only had one realistic transfer window for new players to adapt with his style, let him have a full pre season with players he's recruited and time to adapt and watch us fly.

Anyone see that weapon at the front who unveiled a 'naive Pep' banner at full time? A laminated poster saying Pep needs to blood young players more.

One of the most bizarre things I've seen in a football crowd. Especially as Pep has put trust in a lot of young players, more so than his recent predecessors.

Well I don't often agree with Ian Wright but tonight he was spot on, if Kompany had been on the pitch at least one of those two goals for Arsenal wouldn't have happened!! We need LEADERSHIP on the pitch!! We need Kompany and Zabaleta.

At the moment, every game with Kompany would be a massive gamble. If he gets injured, that gutting feeling spreads to the team. It's mentally tasking. However, you are right. Silva is a great player but he isn't one for shouting orders is he. One can hope for a solution in the future.

It's fucking pathetic mate, we've been playing some of these sub standard players for the past THREE seasons and still they are pulling a shirt on every week, Pep has inherited a bang average squad in very important areas of the game.

Do you see Madrid, Bayern, Barca or even united running down player contracts en masse so they can get rid without it costing a penny? Aswell as the obvious ones out of contract in the summer we still have the likes of Nasri, Bony, Mangala, Delph, Otimendi stinking the place out contracted for the next 2/3 seasons .

Edit. You can add Bravo and Nolito to that list aswell.

It's a fucking joke it really is, Pep might just say three seasons is enough with the shit position he's inherited and who could blame him.

i've given up caring, if the idiot that is Pep starts with Navas at right back with Zabaleta on the bench, then the fact he is a tactical genius is a myth.

Goes on and on about why we dont win because we dont take our chances, when the obvious failure in the way he plays is defending (or lack of it) .

Clearly he's given up on the league. He didnt give us any hope in the Chumps League and its he pining his hopes on the FA Cup to save his reputation of a 'trophy winner'. He'll fail on that as well.

He harped on about coming here to learn, but 9 months in, hasn;'t learned the simple fact that the English game involves a strong defence to be successful. Yet his gung-ho arrogance is costing us. He wont change. Thats why he wont win anything at City.Cos he too stupid to adapt to our game, he expects the game to change to his style.

And he's clearly shunning the leaders and strong personalities that will challenge him like Zabaleta, Kompany so he feels like the king of his castle. Thats the reason Hart was ousted, Joe would have been a loud voice in the dressing room when things were going wrong, Vinny, would have done that, Aguero has had a say and is only playing cos Jesus is injured, Zaba will say things when they arent going right. Pep is punishing those players that fight for City when we need them by not playing them. Not saying Sterling, Sane, Ferny Kev etc arent doing their bit, but they arent the types to question the gaffer, rather say "yes sir".

I hope he changes. I hope he brings a solidity to out defence to compliment our attack. Chelsea and Spurs have no problem finding the balance, so if Pep is a genius, he should be able to too. But i dont think he will. Season is over for me.

That's a pretty damning verdict :(

Spot on mate, my feeling exactly. Now pleased I am not making the trip to Chelsea on Wednesday night.

Thought Navas did OK at right back, had Kun scored the header from navas beautiful cross people would be singing a different tune... Was never going to be a fluid performance. Let him play at least 4. - 5 games there. I defenietly think its the future.
Navas has good work ethic, retains the ball well and most importantly pace. All qualities required for Rb. A step in the right direction.
