Arsenal Post Match Thread.

Pep: "We played better in the second half than first. After our first goal, we forgot to play."

Pep: "We need time to change the mentality for everybody."

Pep says the Sterling substitute was "tactical", he wanted "more passes" by bringing Yaya Touré on.

Pep: "Jesus is an excellent guy and I was very happy with his performance against Sanchez - one of the best natural wingers in the world."

Gary Neville: "They (City) will drive a bus through that back five in the summer."

Totally natural position for his arm there... now listen to my 10 paragraph rant about how shit all our players played today.

I'm in shock. The dinosaur says "I did not see it", which when translated to English means definite penalty

You can bet your bottom dollar he'd have seen it if it had been at the other end

Yaya was completely useless when he came in. Yet people was crying for him in the Monaco game.

I said at half time that we needed Yaya - 15 minutes later, it was clear that we didn't need him. He had a good run of form this season, but that run has ended

Pretty pleased overall but it's the same old problems. Every shot, more or less, goes in against us

Clichy aside, I'm more concerned with the midfield. Spineless doesn't begin to describe KDB and Sterling. You can have all the talent in the world but if you've got no heart, you're going nowhere. Silva is about the only one in there who stands a chance of winning a 50/50 although Dinho knows how to foul which can come in useful.

fully agree with KDB.....he is a weak link playing him as he is being played now......play him in his natrual postion then he is a gift.

If Ilky was fit he would be fighting for his place with Navas, sterling sane ....

Silva centrally is far superior to him

i dont believe it was a penalty so no i dont want a call that I belive is wrong and i wont use it as an excuse cause that then ignores all the things we need to improve

the sending off's (potential_ ...absolutely cocqulain should have gone deliberate break away stopping "challenge"

Improve how we defend and ( and just for today's game our passing as it is normally really good) and we win...regardless of a decsion that does or doesnt go our way....

Ive never said anyting today about ptting our chances away...we didnt create that many actual chances due to our poor passing.....we got ourselves into postions on the pitch where we could have but it wasnt even the final ball today....it was breaking down 2-3 passes before that......thats the real disappointing thing
I don't care what you believe that was a penalty all day long.

Also putting chances away was your excuse for Luiz being allowed to stay on the pitch being ok.

I'm not really arsed whether we finish top 4 or not. The CL does nothing for me and going through the huge re-building of the team, it might be more beneficial to go into the Europa League and bleed in some talented youngsters. United, Spurs and Liverpool have all benefitted from that and it allowed Chelsea to re-build their side a few years back. Also, the Europa is a winnable competition whereas the way we play we are still far away from winning the CL. In regards to the calibre of player the CL will help us attract, there's not a chance a year out the CL will impact things. Not when Pep is the gaffer and the wages on offer.

These sort of performances don't surprise me anymore. Too many players are simply not up to scratch and haven't been for a while. However, what is disappointing is the mentality of this side. We have the mentality of a lesser side playing the big boys away from home. How many times have people seen the likes of Burnley or Stoke go to Old Trafford, miss a sitter and then their head drops and they concede? That is exactly where we are at but only we do it when we are winning.

Spurs, Chelsea and Arsenal, to name a few, are games when we have had a lead, missed very good chances and allowed our heads to drop. That 7 points dropped in the big games this season from being in a winning position and whilst I have 100% faith in Pep, it does raise questions about his game management.

Is it bad that I agree with Gary more than Pep?

Clichy, Sagna, Zabaleta, Navas, Caballero and maybe Otamendi will all leave this summer I reckon.

If Madrid offered our money back for Nico he can leave.
