This maybe complete and utter bollocks. but if it irritates those Tarquins let put an offer in of £40,000,000-01p

Yes we need him ! If we want to compete with the like of Real ,Barca, bayern we need big players like Alexis ! We need to win trophies and Alexis can help us to achieve them!

That's if Sanchez plays ST. I think we'll see him, Sterling and Sane as our 3 winger options

I think Pep's ideal first team players can have a multi functional value to them, he would expect his first teamers to play different roles depending on opposition and specific in game situations.

I mean, given we have people on here who genuinely believe Messi isn't good enough for us, I'm not surprised you'd question that we need Alexis Sanchez.

The guy has 23 goals and 12 assists this season. He's prolific and has been consistently one of the best players in the league. Further he's a big game scorer and arguably knows Pep's system inside out.

He'd be a dream signing, though, obviously difficult to imagine given the circumstances.

Tidbits:
City would pay around £50m
He would earn half as much again as he gets at Arsenal currently
The Chavs are rumoured to be in on him, but City are the choice due to his relationship with Pep
Bravo won't leave in the summer

Interesting.

Would Sanchez be big dick or Nimrod?
I would be extremely underwhelmed if we forked out £50m for a 28 year old with one year left on his contract playing in a position that's 6th or so on our list of priorities.

Agreed about our priority list, GK, LB, CB, RB and DM are the most important positions to cover this window, indeed Pep has said as much.

Other than that, what's not to like about Sanchez? His age?

That price if it's true. We'd be handing Arsenal enough money to replace him with a younger hungrier model.

Not sure Arsenal need the money and it's not going to be enough for a set of Kylian Mbappe's shoelaces.

If Wenger is gone, the board will give his replacement funds for a squad of his building regardless. But love that as it may, is Alexis Sanchez worth £50m in today's market? Definitely.

Have you even watched Sanchez play - he runs none stop - I would say anyone coming new into the premier league would have to hit the ground running and be fantastic to be an improvement.

If we can get him it's a no brainer - fantastic player

He'd be worth it with a few years left on his contract. I won't exactly be dancing for joy if we pay £50m for a player that could buy themselves out for £7m under the Webster Ruling.

Not arsed me,not my money, but if this Webster ruling can be applied,I would be very surprised if we pay £50m.

No mate, seriously, it's really fucked up but I've missed every match he's played for Chile, Udinese, Barca and Arsenal through a really unlikely convergence of circumstances and have never actually seen him play...

I've probably seen more live Arsenal games than 99% of this board thanks to bringing the missus over since he signed and £50m would be enough for them to sign a younger replacement from anywhere but the premier league.

Do we need Sanchez? The only option for signing him is if Sergio goes, but replacing him with Sanchez doesn't seem that smart.

Why does any team sign players - to improve themselves - If Sanchez signed for us we would be a better team and certainly have better options up front. This doesn't mean he should be our priority but if he can be got he is a great addition

Tell me which young player would:

Arsenal get for 50 mill who would be as good and be prepared to pay the wages other top clubs pay.

Not with 12 months left he isn't. 30 would be good, 35 would be pushing it.

£50m for a player who'd be free 12 months late would be a shambles.

Angel Correa if they want somebody to play in the three behind the striker, not quite there yet but he will be soon and he's 6 or 7 years younger than Sanchez.
Pulisic is another.

They're stocked in those positions though so I'd be more worried about them bringing in an upgrade on Giroud.

Thank you. There are far too many on here who seem to put this lad in the Messi/Tranny bracket and they're the only players worth that kind of money with a year left. Sanchez is one of the 50 or 60 players in the next brackets down.

As can i.

Aguero's game time will already be reduced due to Jesus, add Sanchez to the mix and he becomes peripheral.
The biggest problem with Sanchez is that he demands to play every game.

In which case Sané Sterling and Jesus are only going to get about 25 starts a season - and that's if it's shared equally.

It might be sustainable for a year, after that one of the kids is going to get pissed off and kick up a fuss. That's why I'd rather get someone younger, who will want to play all the time, but will be happy playing 75% of games.

So you think letting him go to a team willing to pay the price to get him would be prudent rather than paying what it takes to get Pep his man?

The club has already sold Guardiola short with a litany of ill advised signings and elephant contracts. I'd be surprised if they don't meet his every expectation this summer, even if it means paying a bit extra.
