It's Quiet - a new dawn

Even though Sanchez is one of the best players in the league, it's difficult to fathom how we would accommodate him unless one of Silva or De Bruyne were to leave.

I would prefer to see us spend big money on four defenders - two full-backs and two central defenders. Our attacking options are the best in the league as they are.

More likely Sanchez would replace Sergio. Kun has been a great player for us, but Sanchez is a better fit for a Pep team, he's can play numerous position's and has incredible work rate.

I mean, given we have people on here who genuinely believe Messi isn't good enough for us, I'm not surprised you'd question that we need Alexis Sanchez.

The guy has 23 goals and 12 assists this season. He's prolific and has been consistently one of the best players in the league. Further he's a big game scorer and arguably knows Pep's system inside out.

He'd be a dream signing, though, obviously difficult to imagine given the circumstances.

If he wasnt 28 and didnt cost us mega money, also the little problem of where he`d play and the fact we need 4 new fullbacks, 2 minimum, a new goalie, a new central defender and defencive midfielder. Other than that yes, i`d jump at the chance to sign him.

I think I can help here mate. 28 means he's at his peak. That's not a bad time to sign a player. He'll cost mega money because he's world class. He'd play in both wide position and as a striker. I think the club are capable of signing players in multiple positions without getting themselves in a muddle.

Arsenal will take the best offer they can get from a club that the player will consent to play for, as they've proven time and time again when strengthening domestic rivals:
Ashley Cole
Emmanuel Petit
Robin Van Persie
Samir Nasri
Emmanuel Adebayor
Gael Clichy
Kolo Toure
Last one of those was five years ago, injury ridden and Arsenal have now finished paying off their stadium, not sure that it really applies. If the player wants out and is prepared to force the issue there is often not much the club can do about it, but they will want their pound of flesh.

We'd probably be able to get Dybala for near enough the price quoted for Sanchez, he's also on record as saying his ambitions are to play for City or Barca - much younger and could play in the 8/10 role as well as anywhere across the front three giving us far more flexibility both tactically and in terms of keeping the squad happy. Probably half the wages as well.

Would absolutely love Dybala, but would be surprised if he was available for only £50m. He's considerably better than Pogshit in every department.

You saved me alot of typing, thank you sir!

The stadium was a handy excuse, Kroenke will be watching the bottom line and will want the biggest sale price regardless of whether it's from a club in Manchester, Turin or Timbuktu.

The stadium may have been an excuse but their transfer dealings have changed since then, they are not now just buying cheapies on low wages, players like Sanchez Ozil and Xhaka have cost them money and their wage bill has increased,. As well as watching the bottom line they will be aware that if they are providing players that strengthen opponents they will have to pay more to stand still.

That's a footballing point of view - Kroenke has never shown any interest in the sporting achievements of the clubs he owns - just their ability to generate revenue.

I think we should hope Alexis goes to Juve and that Dybala hasn't signed his extension yet and start whispering in his ear. Would be worse for Arsenal too since they would get less money instead of taking us to the cleaners.

All this depends on Agüero though. I know Dybala is a massive Kun fan so he wouldn't hesitate to take over the crown from him

He has a far lower media profile than Pogba, that transfer fee wasn't solely based on his ability/potential as a footballer. I'd expect Dybala to go for a fee in the same range as Sterling + KDB.

But I am sure that Kroenke is not an idiot and is aware that revenue generation is in part dependent on sporting success.

Here's the way I see this;

Sanchez holds the cards here - if he wants to go to Chelsea, he'll either go to Chelsea for what they consider a fair price in the summer, or he'll stink the dressing room out for a season and go next summer, costing Arsenal the transfer fee and delaying their buying a replacement in a rapidly inflating market. Same if he wants to go to us or any other club.

There's a poster on here that seems convinced he has his heart set on going to play for Juve in a second rate league for half the money, but I doubt he'll choose them over a PL club. He's already in the UK and the wages are higher here than anywhere bar the two big Spanish clubs.

Chelsea won't pay £50m - they're shrewd when it comes to transfers and it's not value for money for them with Willian, Pedro, Costa and Hazard at the club already and the centre back and wing back positions more in need of upgrades and depth.

Juve won't pay £50m unless they have a big outgoing - their yearly revenue is less than Chelsea's and they have a new stadium to pay off. They also won't offer him the wages he wants - parity with Arsenal at best, they can't afford to have all of their top players banging down the door demanding a payrise and so won't break their pay structure.

Bayern have just signed Julien Brandt and are already well stacked in the forward positions, they won't give him the wages he wants either. They won't be offering £50m.

The rags might - they're likely to lose big conk to LA and will badly need a goalscorer. So what? If they want to blow money then let them - we have other positions that need attention far more than we need Sanchez. No guarantee he'll sign for them either - they still have a major rebuild needed and don't look like challenging for the league anytime soon.

Liverpool can't pay his wages.

Spurs are a no go, as are Barca.

Madrid won't want a Barca cast off.

PSG are set going forward with Di Maria, Cavani and Draxler.

Honestly - I can't see another club offering anywhere near that money for him and he's available on a free in 13 months, so why the fuck would we do it, when he doesn't even play in a position that we need to prioritise for transfers this summer?

He's going to look at Liverpool and the rags and he won't be overly worried imo.
Maybe, our revenues have overtaken Liverpools and up until a few years ago Liverpool might not have won a lot but they were consistent in European challenges and then their revenues dropped.
He might also ponder on the fate of Leeds and Villa.
Even Mike Ashley the king of revenue farming from clubs has realised that he needs to spend money to maintain Premiership status and credibility.

That Brandt to Bayern transfer has already been denied by his father, it came out on 1st April as well.

I genuinely doubt Alexis is going to stay for a free transfer in 2018, it's an high risk move with the World Cup next year.

It would be a risky move for a player at Mbappe's level, not established as a regular in the squad and up against competition at club level for his place.

It is fuck all of a risk for a player that Arsenal cannot afford to drop, a player established as his country's top performer, biggest name and star player.

I'm warming up to the Llorente idea, I was totally against it in the beginning but I can see the logic behind it, wouldn't scream to play every game either. And KDB can at least see his target stick out in the box now when he puts in his crosses ;)

He's a beautiful man too.
Surprising myself to suggest this but if we wanted an impactful target man we could do a lot worse than Carroll. Homegrown too with more years in him than llorente.

Didn't know that, regardless Sammer won't sign off on a £50m transfer for a player with a year left and won't break their pay structure. That would be the case with a player they needed, never mind a luxury signing.
