Simon that is as naïve as it gets.... he would want aguero to stay, I have no doubt, and as stated by pep earlier in the season, that will be down to Kun, however, he isn't going to publicly flog the guy ffs, he's a legend in the eyes of any blue, that we all agree on but he (kun) won't be staying here to sit on the bench imo and that is a distinct possibility considering the way we are trying to play.....
do you not think he would take a bit of rotation at least
kun sanchez sterling sane and GJ.....3 players for 5 positions
we are pretty sure that GJ can be effective anywhere across the front 3
we know sterling will never be a central striker.....he just wont
Kun and sanchez...both more effective centrally but both have shown an ability to play anywhere in the front 3
Sane....at moment his best position is out wide.....can he play centrally?????...no one knows yet....he does remind me of fake ronaldo (ugh!!!) when he was young so going off that alone then he probably can (he will have to learn to be a lot better in the air however to emulate the fake one however)
so thats two that are better centrally (sanchez and Kun)
one whose only position is ever going to be wide (sterling)
Sane and GJ who can play anywhere.
The only cat amongst the pigeons is signing a player like Llorente who offers something completely different than any of them
Kun will only want to leave if he is made to feel that he wont play regularly (thats basically what peps comments are about)....signing sanchez may do this so why again do it? he doesn't offer more goals or even better flexibility (again both are better centrally and their effectiveness, although they can do it, is reduced by playing anywhere else
The other question you haven't addressed is the lack of goals from elsewhere in the team ..........sell run we are going to have to make up 25-30 goals a season (across all the comps)...thats a lot of improving the rest have to do
Id happily keep Kun and see him play in the same team as GJ and Sane for a season...if it doesn't come off then fine, but it aint even been given a chance yet
