It's Quiet - a new dawn

It saddens me, probably all of us, to see Kun this season. He definitely isn't the player he was last season. The reasons for this i'm unsure. Whether he can't adapt to Peps tactics or whether he has lost some pace. I honestly can't remember the last time he dropped his shoulder to beat a defender and scored, especially from outside the box. All his current goals seem to be tap ins. Outside the box he seems to have lost his spark. Just a personal opinion. Maybe the time is right to say goodbye and all move on. Would hate to see him sink to the levels of say Rooney at United for example. The thought of him going isn't a pleasant one but he deserves more than being an impact player off the bench.

My concern about relying too heavily on Sane, Jesus and Sterling next season is that young players are more prone to form lapses than more experienced.
We need some experienced forwards who are happy not to play regularly but can be relied upon when injuries or form slumps occur.

He's scored more this season than Sanchez ever has in a season, if this is him struggling so much it's making you sad then I'd recommend a doctor

Huge decision if they decide to get rid of him but in my opinion it's the right one, your opinion is it's the wrong decision but that's fine, it's no biggy?

It's just a conflict of opinion, it happens all the time on football forums.........
I've no problem with people disagreeing mate and I've read many of the arguments put forward and seen some validity in them.
What doesn't sit right with me is Aguero being seen to be like the paper that holds your chippy tea - yesterday's news.

I really don't know what games you are watching

If this is true then there is no real reason to go after Sanchez.

I believe a lot of people like you are falsely scapegoating Aguero for not finishing chances. Yea he's missed more than normal but he's also the only one finishing at all, outside of Sane ( who is doing quite well after his first few months but is still nowhere near Agueros clinical level).

Replacing Aguero with Jesus next year might lead to a lot goals but it won't be because of Jesus, it will be because of our vastly improved stability at the back giving the front more freedom to expand the space around the box because we have the skill to set up shop further up the field.

There's going to be a rude awakening if Aguero leaves and we have no consistent goal scorer outside of three 21 years olds.

There will always be moments where the perfectly laid out plan doesn't work in which case you need magic. Aguero is magic.

I'm not sure anybody else is. Sanchez sure isn't.

How anyone can question one of the best strikers in the world i.e. Aguero is beyond me. I hope Jesus goes on to reach that standard, and I think he can, but it will be a couple of year until he can effectively replace Aguero.

Its unrealistic to expect him to change his style of play, to run an extra 1k every match with many more sprints, without it having some effect on his sharpness. If he concentrated purely on scoring goals, and had a partner like Dzeko to do the donkey work he would probably still be the same old Sergio. His new role, combined with the loss of confidence from losing his automatic starting place, has inevitably affected his goal scoring to some extent.

He's got 10 in the last 10 and 30 in all comps.

Aguero is the best striker in the league and an all time City legend. He is a goal machine and a fox in the box more these days than previously. That's not a slant on him that's just how it's developed. He dosnt seem as lightningly agile as we have seen previously but it's definitely in there. I still think he's got another level in him yet. To see him lift the Champions league trophy in blue would be the cherry, on the icing, on the cake. It needs to happen, it would be the ultimate send off for a true great.

From Kun's point of view, he's going to want a solid commitment to starting each game. From Pep's point of view, we've already seen he prefers Jesus in the role and, if he was fit, it would be Sane-Jesus-Sterling as the front three.

Aguero is one of the best strikers in the league and can legitimately walk into most top team's starting XI unhindered, so he doesn't need to stay and fight for a place and, IMO, probably won't.

Meanwhile, Pep continually blames our lack of ruthlessness in front of goal for our woes this year and Kun is a big part of this. Sanchez may not be as good an out and out striker, but his conversion rate is among the best and his flexibility to play in any of the three front positions is invaluable in a Guardiola squad.

I'd rather Aguero stayed, as any Blue should, but it seems likely he's gone and when I think of Sane-Jesus-Sterling and potentially Sanchez thrown into the mix, I can't see how anyone could be too disappointed.

I did say it was a personal opinion and I stand by that. He definitely isn't the player he was last season and Pep does seem to lean towards Jesus as a first choice. Who's right? I'll ask the Doctor eh?

If Alexis comes, he's not coming to sit around on the bench. He's taking a starting spot in the squad whether that be Sane, Jesus, Sterling or even Silva/De Bruyne

I don't think that's what Pep wants though.

He wants a culture where you have to earn your place and if you are in poor form then there will be an as good if not better player ready to take your place.

One of the reasons I think Sergio has dropped off in recent years was because he knew his place was always guaranteed.

I believe football at the highest level is heading down a road where there will be no starting XI's anymore, but a squad full of world class players fighting it out with each other to play every week.
