Fantastic article. Sir Howard had a real vision and ambition. He knew that to drive improvement in the city he had to make it a more attractive place to live and work. That in turn will drive private investment.
Contrast that to Andy Burnham who looks nailed on to replace him who sees the future of Manchester's economy as bringing more civil servant jobs to the city. End of an era, unfortunately.
