Arsenal(FA Cup Semi Final) Post Match Thread

Church of Pep!!! Hahaha, not been paying attention then have we? I'm not his biggest fan at all, I think he thinks he's shit hot.

The facts are though, the higher ups have stitched us up by having terrible recruitment policy, or lack of. 4 old fullbacks. 1 good striker, agieng midfield and a crock in the heart of defense...not one bit of that was addressed, and it should have been, knowing that Pep was coming for 3 years.

Nail on head, the problem is deeper than Pep and has been for sometime.

Never thoughts I'd say this but I can't wait for video refs to come into existence.
It's the only way to stop the officials cheating us out of results.
Really f****d off today!

Recently saw France v Spain friendly which had exactly that resulting in a goal originally given for France being disallowed for offside.
No problems and very little delay.
Supposed to be part of the process for use in the forthcoming Russia based International tournament-

You could well be right old chap

So predictable, same old story. start well, miss chances, a bit of dodgy reffing, take foot off pedal, Yaya slows it down to tippy tappy , we let the opposition in, they score , there was only going to be one winner after that
Completely wrong about yaya
Not long since got home from game. Had enough time to see analysis of penalty decision and our disallowed goal. Couldn't believe how clear cut the pen was, well I could really as even from the other end of the ground it looked a pen. Was in disbelief when they disallowed the goal.

Important decisions at a time we were well on top and maybe if one of them had gone for us, we would have got a two goal lead, which would have seen them capitulate.

Yes, you can pick some holes in City's performance but bloody hell we do not get much good luck. Small amrgins have cost us yet again but can't fault the effort, players were shot by end.

Yaya totally undeserving of being on the wrong side of that result.

For the winner Yaya chips the player beautifully who then blocks Yaya by falling over and low and behold its an Arsenal free kick.

Play then goes wide where low and behold they get yet another cheap free kick from which they score.

Thats how refs affect games and thats how they cheat.

Today for 120 mins pawson was almost perfect and he got his job done!

Bang on. Maybe we didn't take our chances, maybe we lost the midfield for a large part of the second half, maybe fitness was a surprising issue...and on and on.
But City had 66% possession yet had the same amount of fouls against as Arsenal - 20 each ( plus 5 yellows to their 2 ) That's basically bollocks and has a huge effect on the match.

We basically still have last season's team plus Sane. Injuries have robbed us of two players who would have improved us over the season in Gundogan and Jesus but by and large we're still relying on Pellegrini and Mancini's players. Pep is trying to play his way when half the squad know they wont be here next season.

This summer is absolutely crucial, a make or break transfer window for Pep and Txiki.

We say that every summer, and no, it isn't. Anyone who thinks we will get more than two of the six (or more) players we supposedly need, let alone are in for, is daft. One of the reasons we are where we are is because we regularly DON'T get the players we want/need. What makes anyone think this summer will be different? Plenty of sides have money, and plenty need help. And neither Txiki nor Pep are in any danger of "breaking." They aren't going anywhere.

Yep,when you see how many de gea saves with his feet you can see juliet doesn't have any reflexes
Cech tipped one round today that 100% would gone past bravo.

Nothing will convince me that bravo is good enough for us.

Pep isn't far behind him

Both have very big seasons coming up next year.

Correct what would we have to lose by video refs?

It's going to happen. But it can't just happen over night as it completely changes the nature of the game we love - it needs to be slowly and carefully progress into the games, there will still be many errors and criticism.

It's why I find it laughable that the transfer forum is sign Sanchez, Mbappe, Bonucci - and fuck it lets sign Isco aswell for good measure-perhaps 3 fullbacks , a goalkeeper etc etc.
Doesn't say much for the transfer policy of the last three seasons does it - throw enough shit at the wall and some will stick - trouble is we can't even hit the fucking wall.
Problem is not spending but not identifying targets painstakingly before doling out the sterlings. If we spent over 100 million in the past few seasons on CB and still require a center back, it leaves a lot to be desired. Something has to change with respect to identifying targets for sure. Also the fact that we spend loads in a transfer window only highlights the fact that we didn't quite get it right in the last window. So the issue is not spending but spending right. If we don't spend right we create that need to spend again.

Saw that game too.
It's the way forward

He should have saved the first goal.
I initially thought he hadn't any chance for the first goal
He should have saved the first goal.
Im not sure, you could argue he could have made himself bigger instead of falling backwards.

I hope Bravo doesn't have a big season as that means he will get significant game time which will not end well. The manager should be under enormous pressure from the powers that be next season.

I posted on another thread that if Pep had rocked up at Manure and achieved the same outcome in his first season we'd be pissing our sides. Just waiting for them to start a SOP thread.

Yes, that is very true, sadly. Losing today to an Arsenal side who have been on a pretty poor run of form since March, to be 1 up and still lose is pretty rank rotten and yet, we've seen it all season, a total inability to batten down the hatches and kill a game...how many games have we won 1-0 this season? Not many I'll wager...

Totally and utterly unfair to blame Pep or the players for this result.

Dominated possession, dominated chances, hit the bar and the post and denied a clear penalty and another goal that would have made the scorline 2-2

Just what is Pep and the players expected to do in the face of such biased officiating. We got a free kick in extra time and the ref only stepped out nine steps making it virtually impossible for Yaya to get the ball up and over the wall. That just about summed up his attitude.

The Lino clearly guessed that the ball was over the line for Agueros first which ultimately sums up the official attitude to us. If they can find a pretext to shaft us they will. I'm sure the club is well aware of what is going on.

just got back...............

ffs.

win or lose i fuckin hate that shit hole.

looks like the emirates paid for the emirates again.

How can it be that our best player was Yaya anf their best player was the ref.

I despair.

Not sure where to start but I'm sure its all been covered.
First half totally dominant but as with the whole season fail to capitalise
After grabbing the lead we yet again cant defend it and going into extra time there was only one winner.
We are so unfit its untrue nearly all our players were dead on their feet. Yet again slow paced predictable football with no plan b has cost us.
Expected so much more from this season pellers got sacked after a better season.
We need a major overhaul in he summer not just in terms of players but mentality too

Completely wrong about yaya our best player today did not deserve to be on the losing side Kevin Leroy and raheem were terrible our problem this season has been the full backs pep must have known before he came and did not do anything about it in my eyes pep is massively at fault

I will happily take a draw on Thursday.

They are unbeaten in 23 league matches and will be no push over especially with Jose getting in the refs head pre-match.

On the other hand we can't hit a barn door and confidence will be low.

Same feeling as before Spurs at home mate, and we played them off the pitch. We've been very good at home against the top 6, just fucked over by the refs (which of course could well happen on Thu).

I am now dreading Thursday boy wonder has been rested by Moureen, no doubt the required bent officials are in waiting, can't wait for season to end, off to my finca for summer, no bad news football wise there.
