Arsenal(FA Cup Semi Final) Post Match Thread

Our slow tempo played into their hands. Even so we were done over by the officials, and the loss of Merlin was critical. We would have won with Silva.
Just got back home from Wembley. Silva would have been drawing players towards him and threading quick weighted balls through the channels for Sane and Sterling to run onto. Without him the balance isn't quite the same - he's the best in the Prem at delivering incisive passes with three players around him. We get routinely clattered (no yellow cards) but the guy in the black can't wait to book our players. We were head and shoulders the better team - only beaten by the ref and bar/post. Without Silva, we were passing to Sane/Sterling when they were already crowded out.

Given the decisions against you, Spurs, Liverpool and Chelsea we have had there is little chance we will be allowed to win on Thursday.

I've always been an advocate of the cock up theory of history rather than the conspiracy view of history, therefore I cannot agree with your comment on this.

You have every chance of beating United and I hope you do.

Just got home. Frustrating afternoon and futile blaming the officials; we had enough chances to win, enough possession to create even more chances, and in the end we let in two very sloppy goals.

I though that, with the exception of Clichy, we played well. I'm not Otamendi's biggest fan but he was immense, as was Yaya. De Bruyne really put in a shift, too. But the game was really a reflection of our season; 90% of brilliance but 10% woefulness, and it's that 10% that is our undoing. If our passing had been a bit quicker in teh final third I think we would have won comfortably.

As if the result wasn't hard enough to take, we had to put up with two blues scrapping behind us up in 538 (made a young kid in front of us cry so his dad took him out early), and also witnessed two younger blues sucker-punch a middle-aged Arsenal fan as we walked out the ground for no apparent reason whatsoever. My 57-year-old dad stepped in to stop them doing something really stupid and then I had to run back and pull him out because in all likelihood these two tossers probably would have swung for him, too. To the lad with the white shirt who threw the second punch when the man was already down and then scurried off; you really are a courageous fella, well done.

Only just back, not a great day. When are we going to learn from mistakes? Silva bullied off the pitch, nothing from the ref and having a legit goal ruled out turned the game. Still making the same errors though, so much possession and nothing from it, pass pass pass pass pass around the box. Pep also needs to stop trying to 'gee' up the crowd. We were making noise all game, even at 2-1 down.

Arsenal fans - learn another fucking song.

Been saying it since last October with Pep, Emperor's New Clothes, shocking substitutions today. Good day to you, Mr Guardiolla.

I still dont know how we last to such an average team. Hope Chelsea smash them in the final.

I went in from Moorgate - out east. And the tqs gradually filled the tube. Nervous and quiet as fuck they all were. I went back the same way and their sweat stank. Last thing they need is a cup final when there's top 6 to think about.

P..S. Gutted!

You just be the F Scott Fitzgerald of this forum with such descriptive narrative, though how well observed it might be is another matter.

We just went out of the Emirates FA cup suffering controversial decisions to the Emirates sponsored Arsenal.

I'm no rocket scientist but if I were Chelsea I'd be a little concerned.

Who's this cant from Kent? Came on to share my misery with fellow blues... why would they not be on their own club forum? Sad bastard with no friends!

Story of our season really. Felt like we were the better team who got unlucky & didn't win, yet again. Wrongly disallowed goal, penalty decision against us & hit the woodwork twice; combined with their fullback scoring a 1/100 volley on his weak foot & a bobbly set-piece goal.

Don't think we played particularly well, but we didn't deserve to lose in my eyes - but I seem to say that a lot against the "bigger" teams this season; hard to keep putting it down to luck. Clearly something has to change, we need to get back the winning mentality against these sides, another good chance mid-week..

I expect we're all looking forward to a big change next season, mega clear out & revamp to the squad incoming, and needed.
