Seasoncard Renewals 2017/18

Seriously considering whether to renew for next season.
I love my club, and always will - as several others on this thread have said. But it's stopped being fun at home games:

1) you never know when the games going to kick off until 4 weeks before - and working shifts that makes things tricky
2) the atmosphere recently has been terrible - and we don't seem to be able to change it
3) for night/cup/CL games I'm forever surrounded by tourists taking endless pictures and generally not having much of a clue

But for me most importantly it's the one thing the club can't/won't address that grates most - the blatantly poor/corrupt officiating in our most important games of the season, Chelski, Spuds, Liverpool and then the straw that's likely to break the camels back Arsenal in a Cup Semi. I just don't want to continue putting money towards an FA that is hell bent on screwing us over at every opportunity!

If the price rises I think that'll be the end of it for me.

I agree totally, the huge que's being treated like a criminal isn't helping but the silence over the corrupt officials is the big one,I've also had enough. The club won't fight back & it's pissing me right off.

I'm sorry but if someone got in the stadium with a bomb and it went off if you were to survive you would only bemoan the lack of security. It's for your safety not cause they want to piss you off

No advanced knowledge of prices doesn't help matters. I admire the spirit of those who think we could see a reduction but I think they're spitting in the wind with that school of thought.

I need to relocate. The movement of people from 93:20 in to their corporate area against the movement of those coming out of 212 etc causes single file on the concourse at half time and it's a nightmare. Try and get a drink, relieve yourself and return to your seat before the second half kicks off. Ain't happening.

50/50 as to whether I renew or not. I probably will but I no longer enjoy going.

I feel exactly the same as you. I was going to get rid of all the cup schemes, go down to gold and try and move to the cheapest available season ticket seat but decided to bite the bullet and get rid all together.

I didn't go to the semi-final on sunday, I gave my ticket away. Didn't miss it if I'm honest. I'll probably get a ticket for the odd big game but the next time I return to the ground on a regular basis is when I start taking my child with me in probably 5 or 6 years

If it was about safety, they would do it at Wembley for an FA Cup semin final, the only person in my group of 5 who was searched on Sunday was my wife, and they only checked her handbag (breaking her sunglasses in the process).

Its got f**k all to do with security at The Etihad I'm afraid, they just want you inside earlier, to get more of your money.

Not a long window really for people to get money together.
Could have made it the end of May surely.
If we had got to finals CL and FA Cup would they have extended it to give Blues who would have spent hundreds time to recoup a bit.

I pay by instalments - it's one of the better things the club has in place.

I know exactly what you mean, but the problem you will have in 5/6 years time,(as long as it's all singing and dancing on the pitch),you may struggle to get back with a season ticket, unless you go on the waiting list .

It's something that has gone through most s/t holders minds in last few years including myself, but it's the what if scenario, that always makes me bite the bullet,I'd miss it too much I think, but definitely food for thought, and you won't be in a minority unfortunately

Yeah I've thought this through and happy to go on a waiting list if/when the time comes.

I don't think I'll be looking to get a season ticket for the kids until they are at least 10. Just my opinion but I think ppl get their kids season tickets far too young. I'd only consider it once they are old enough to attend evening matches

Cynical and not true either.

Unfortunately the Etihad is considered one of the most 'delicate' stadiums during the times we live in. The club want to make sure every box is checked in the event of something taking place.

The actual impact of this is that it's impossible to get people into the ground earlier, in fact, it makes the process a lot longer, which is something the club aren't happy with but are willing to take it on the chin while the checks are in place (for the foreseeable future).

Lets be frank the searching they are doing at the moment - wouldn't catch any terrorist.
Worse the queues make us fans more of a target.
Explosive and ammunition smelling dogs with snatch squads at the entrances to the Stadium Complex (Metro/North CP, East CP, Bridge, Ashton Old Road and Romsey Street enterances would be much more effective.
In the mean time employ more people doing the inadequate searches!

Agree 100%

We'll no doubt see how good they are at finding stuff tomorrow as I'm sure the raggy swamp dwellers will have a flare or two inside......if they can get those in anybody could get some TNT inside.

If it's all about safety and not even a little bit about money then why do city during the searches confiscate a packet of crisps and a chocolate bar from a bag from a woman with a child, yet Wembley stadium were hapy for you to take your own food in? Eh? Answer me that one.

I look forward to the email on Tuesday.
I'm a well paid professional but I'm at my limit.
Any price increase above my recent wage increase (1.5%) and I'm out - unless I can relocate back about 6 rows to a price that remains affordable.

because they are red ****s working for security?

Thread on the go about this on City Voice (yes I know it's a massive pile of shite) but might be worth making our views known on there also.

Being down south for a few days after the semi just reminded me of the gulf between us and them. Starter flats are about £400K and I assume wages support that. 5 quid a pint - you are having a laugh! We are not in that market and our ticket prices need to reflect that. Especially when we don't have the tourist base up here that feed Utd & Liverpool. Used to pay 25p as a junior in the Kippax when I first started going in 1974. There was no reason not to go at that price and led to a lifetime commitment. Keep the prices down and we will come!
