It's Quiet - a new dawn

A sensible discussion? you asked 2 questions, is he at peak, efficiency. Two more goals for his best ever season, so yes, he's at his peak. The other, i said doesn't matter. If others had chipped in with their best respective goalscoring seasons we would have been champions. ( De Bruyne, Silva, Yaya ). 30 goals plus from your main striker says that that is not where the problem lies, IMO.

I asked one question and gave one reason why he might not be.

He doesn't need two more goals for his best ever seen in the league, he has 18 so far, compared to 24 last season and 26 the season before. Achieving his best ever total in all competitions does not necessarily mean he is at his peak.

I'll ask another question: is he as quick as he used to be?

I think it's clear Bravo will stay. Moving him on after this season would be selling low and all reports indicate he wants to make a success of it, including by learning English.

While Bravo isn't nearly as bad as he has been, I'm not sure Pep will go into possibly the biggest (and most testing) season of his footballing career with a quality player who just has one or two too many question marks hanging over him.

That being so, even if Bravo does ultimately stay, I'd be surprised if Pep doesn't move for a long term option (such as Ederson) regardless and perhaps work a split-pl/cl arrangement while he evaluates who will see the lion's share of football.

A new keeper is the most important position, please not Pickford with Bravo number 1, we need a top class keeper be that Ederson or Donnarumma; players we choose for long term. Pep dropped a bollock with clown Bravo and it's time to get rid! FFS why bother with any other positions if you don't sort a decent keeper, infuriating if we stick with that clown next season

How do you think Donnarumma would adapt to playing it out of the back?

A new keeper is the most important position,

I agree we need a quality keeper, but it's far from the most important position to fill this summer.

Our lack of good fullbacks contributes to both a defensive black hole and a breakdown in our offensive game. A reliable option next to John Stones seems prudent, though I love Vinnie we can't gamble on his fitness for a full season. A defensive midfielder, ala Yaya, and a long-term replacement for Silva all seem like they should be prioritized too.

Agreed, in that Yaya's skills set is a more rare one to me; I can't honestly recall easily many other players who have all is attributes in his prime. All round maybe its best to sell players whilst they are still around their peak, just before they start to decline, and whilst you can still get max dollar for them. That could be the thinking with Sergio - I think it would be had to argue, for any player, that if you'd had them at your club between the ages of say, 24 - 29, you haven't had their best years. An absolute club legend, always will be.

Someone made the analogy with cars awhile back; either sell them when they have still have a good resale value or run them into the ground.

A club needs to take a balanced approach to this; although we can probably afford to hang onto players more than many other clubs, if Mansour sanctions it.

Yaya, Silva and Vinnie are probably in the run into the ground group. Sergio perhaps has to be one to balance the books but it will, by all accounts, be his choice to make.

He is young and I'm sure he is capable of adding this to his game, personally love the look of Ederson.

The main thing I understand though is that Bravo is a disaster and should most certainly not be our first choice keeper next season.

I wouldn't even have him in my 5 asides team, he really is that bad a shot stopper and barely resembles a keeper

It's a priority just like other positions,we will not be challenging for the league if bravo is in goal next season,he may have been a good keeper but as I posted earlier it's passed him by now..

Priority 1 must be a keeper, we simply can't start next season with Bravo as first choice, I agree full backs for a back 4 are essential but I have a feeling we will be playing 3 at the back next season

its interesting that people are still ignoring the glaring misses from other players...KDB for instance against Chelski......Jesus vs boro yesterday......yet every miss Kun has is used a s a yard stick to beat him with.....

Who's ignoring them. I've commented on both but other players missing things isn't key to discussing whether there is a good case for selling Sergio's registration this summer. Neither KDB or Jesus has peaked yet - well I hope they haven't - but Sergio might have and even if he hasn't, he probably is not far off having done so. That makes for a very situation and discussion.

If KDB does not make sufficient progress in the next 12 months, we might well be discussing whether we should sell him then.

I agree with you on GJ...i think he is a huge star in the making so much that hanging onto him could prove a problem in the future...one of the big two will come knocking at some point (Barca. Madrid) - but thats another story.

Why supplement GJ with Sanchez when we already have Kun (who is more proven) and who scores more?......team play....well Kun has stepped up hugely.....and if its because Kun wont get the games he wants are you telling me Sanchez is going to come here and sit on the bench and be happy?

And like you say....I don't think we will get Mbappe either...he will either stay put or at some point get his move to madrid....he has Real madrid written all over him that lad and I do wonder if he fits into our/Peps style of play....happy to be wrong on that as I aint seen that much of him.

I don't see Sanchez replacing Aguero directly. I think Sanchez would take one of the roles in behind Jesus. Whoever isn't performing sits down. Aguero can stay and still have Sanchez joining. The player who would really suffer here is Sterling IMO. When it comes to Sanchez/Aguero, Sanchez is more flexible and is inheritently a harder worker off the ball which would see more opportunities for him in the side over 1 spot up top. We really have to see who is brought in for Defense/Midfield roles before we can debate whether 2 up top or not would work. I would love for Aguero to stay and break all the records for us and he may still accept that challenge but I just don't see us downgrading with Sanchez.

Fuck that, he's created like the second most chances in Europe bar Messi. I hope he plays more freely next season, a new holding mid with legs and someone like Gundo who is more defensive than Silva next to him.
