Seasoncard Renewals 2017/18

I know I will get a lot of stick for this but here goes anyway. Whilst recognising that everyone doesn't have access to spare cash an increase of around 2% is a pretty strange amount to be used as a deal breaker. The club has had £1b invested in it since our Sheikh secured the club. And I don't use the word secured lightly. The quality of the player we can attract is incomparable with those we used to recruit and the stadium has been expanded to increase revenue. I know that I would be pretty annoyed if I were to be turfed off my current perch at the Etihad but ultimately the club has to create increased income and the despised 'Corporates' are more likely to generate serious additional funds. It makes sense to the club to create space for more of them and to sell this space it needs to be where 'Corporates' would be prepared to shell out serious cash to sit. Without the growth in hospitality our increases over the last few years would have been significantly higher than they have been and 2% after a freeze is more than reasonable. Those who are currently having a right go at the club and using the increase in TV revenue as a stick to beat the club with should wait to see if the clubs profits go through the roof as a result. I personally doubt that they will.

I've just tried to get on the renew site and they acknowledge who I am but they haven't given me any buttons to click to say I want the same again! Get it sorted Marwood. I've used Safari and Google 'cos sometimes Safari doesn't like the cut of some websites' jibs! Anyone else had trouble renewing?

Aaaaargh, I should've read Danny's instructions. Electronic brochure! Second attempt. This fuckin' tech does my head in!

Haven't they got their own team to support?

Lol was waiting for this comment.
In fairness, I've met some of this branch members and they were from MCR originally.

As for the comment, they too are out of touch with the regular City matchgoer if they don't see the issue with inflated prices.

I suppose most OSC's are just happy with their ticket priority and fuck everyone else.

A proper fan driven stand up is needed against the club, and I can't see this happening from the likes of an OSC as they are so far up the corporate side of the clubs ass... Due to ticket distributions, and that the OSC is given the press room to host meetings
Don't assume that the Blackpool and Fylde branch facebook comment speaks for every member. As said, many of us are originally from the Manchester area so jibes about "supporting a local team" don't go down too well either.

I'll be binning platinum and at least one Cup scheme so the club will receive less money from me.

That's good to read.
At least some True Blues are making a stand and will support the fan it seems the football club no longer want around.

Can guarantee if I won the lottery tomorrow the club would be begging, treating me like fucking royalty.
Yes sir, here is access to every away game. No waiting.
Yes sir, here is your tunnel view.
Yes sir, sing whatever you want, you'll never see a high visible jacket... And no queuing up outside.

Can someone tell guardiola to have a word with his Spanish exec mates - it's all well and good him moaning about the lack of atmosphere, but his pals are pricing the atmosphere out of the Etihad, and if they keep increasing the prices there is no point increasing the capacity. While you are at it Pep if you want an increase in the tempo of the fans then increase the fucking tempo of the play. I will renew come what may for me and my kids, but there are plenty that won't, and that is a fucking shame. If you read this forum vicky Kloss then shame on you and the execs for the price increases, from which the increase in revenue will be negligible in comparison to the pissing off of LOYAL fans, take fucking note

this is the blackpool and fylde branch Facebook response to the 1894 statement " We'll done the 1894 Group, you spend the whole season promoting MCFC and in one fell swoop destroy all of that great PR by talking to the Daily Fail in derogatory terms about a 2% increase, the first in two years!"

i think they've had too much rock.

City increase season ticket prices = let's blame the 1894 Group! That's some twisted logic right there. As Ste said, it's unlikely that the OSC would come out and publicly criticise the club and I wouldn't expect them to, but to slag off a fan group that effectively does their dirty work for them and has actively campaigned for cheaper away tickets with other like-minded fan groups - and succeeded - plus put out a very public statement last season following the PSG ticket price debacle is downright fucking bizarre.

How many times does this need repeating?

CFG aren't assed about the Atmosphere.

They are bothered about Revenue, Profit, Loss.

They'll say they are bothered about it yet actions say otherwise... They take measures to decrease the atmosphere, making it more corporate and sanitised.
You can repeat it as many times as you like. It's just opinion.

I entirely agree that they have P&L at the top of their priorities, but you could also argue that it makes good business sense to look after the atmosphere otherwise you'll get a drop off in interest from all parties.

All fair points Blue Llama. However, if City break even, the Sheikh's family save a fortune because we / City help to promote Abu Dhabi on a global scale. I don't think the Sheikh would have entertained the increase if he knew how fans were feeling about it.

It's not about the 2 percent for many of us. It's a failure to listen to the fans. Many of whom are not well paid but packed out Wembley the other Sunday to safeguard the Club from a rag infested media onslaught.

The gentrification of football is rolling on nicely
Do you really think that's true? I think there are a few more women and families, but by and large it is still a working class game. Even at places like Arsenal that's still the case

give it a few years....the change is noticeable in many parts of the ground

I don't agree that the club are 100% not arsed about the atmosphere. If that was the case, then they would never have worked with 1894 in helping reconfigure the singing section to encompass 115 and part of 114. However, I do believe that different factions within the club want different things and this often leads to a conflict of interests. For example, some bean counter somewhere will have signed this seasoncard price increase off and think they're doing a good job without giving a moment's thought to the impact on the core fanbase and the atmosphere, but at the same time there will be someone in another department that doesn't have a say in ticket prices who will have designs on working with the fans towards trying to facilitate a better atmosphere.
