Hmm. That's rags propaganda. Sanchez was the best player on the pitch by some distance orchestrating Arsenal'ss best moves. However he is not 24, he's 28 and his physicality is such a huge part of his game. He used to be seriously quick and relied a lot on his pace. He doesn't seem as quick as he was when he was at Udinese and then Barcelona. Now he is more of an all-round player with a lot of quality and vision. He is a top player - one of the best in the Premiership, and will be for 1-2 more seasons, but as a wide forward we have Sane, Sterling and Roberts. I would persist with these players. I feel that Sanchez would be a very short term buy like RVP was for Utd and his game is now dipping whereas we have players in that position who are going to get better.

I thought he created most of Arsenals best moves of the game.

Also RE: pace, I think he's looking a little bulkier than he used to. Still in great shape obviously but I Reckon he'd drop a few pounds and maybe sharpen up under the Guardiola preseason regime.

We have missed many a scoring opportunity throughout this season but this is not the reason for us missing out. As it stands right now, we have 70 goals to our name which is only two fewer than top scorers Chelsea. Our defence on the other hand is conceding over a goal a game, something that title challengers just don't do. That's why we have missed out and it is at the back, starting with a new keeper that has to be our priority this summer.

Peps been pretty incessant that the finishing is what has killed us, it the defence, and that a lot of the defensive mistakes are caused by the poor finishing - games like Chelsea, Everton, Southampton and Arsenal away we created loads of opportunities to score and put the game away, but because we didn't, the team got nervous, we over committed trying to get a goal and got exposed.

If the chances went in, a lot of those goals wouldn't have been conceded and we'd be winning the league.

Pep's made that point a few times and personally I agree with him.

But we have a different approach to Chelsea which leaves us more exposed at the back in the belief that we'll capitalise by scoring more goals. I think everyone agrees that the defence needs work and new players, however defending is also the responsibility of the entire team. That includes pressing, covering etc but another part of that is taking your chances, as the cliche goes, goals change games.

Anyway, i kind of feel the debate is pointless anyway, because we need to improve in both areas to win the title next season.

Solid point, that.

Can see him going to bayern all day long. Arsenal will prefer it and cant really see a reason why the player would prefer to come to us over the germans.

Arsenal were never going to sell to us.

There is just too much friction between the club and fans to risk such a sale.

I kind of hope this doesn't mean we go for Coman now.

Good player but too similar to Sane and Sterling in my opinion.

Is anyone really bothered if he goes to Bayern? Great player but we've got a shit hot front three barely past their teens along with the best striker this league has seen, with some amazing prospects coming through. If he went to Chelsea or the rags I'd be bothered, but Bayern? We might play them once or twice before he retires and they don't play in the premier league.
