You guys are prickly when it comes to the establishment. You're always so big and brave on the outside yet servile and know your betters on the inside.

Grow a backbone, vote for IRA supporters, learn how not to lose gracefully, predict exactly the opposite of
what eventually happens, then attend a crash course in 'Gifs for Corbyn.'

The Tories have increased the debt because the deficit they inherited was so high and the conditions were terrible for trying to decrease it (you'd normally run up a deficit in a recession and then a surplus through good years).

Deficits-by-chancellor-001.jpg

Labour essentially put a brick on the accelerator and now moan at the Tories that the car is going faster and faster and bleat austerity when they try to apply the brake.

And yes, I'd love to see more public investment, but not at the risk of the size of the resulting debt mountain we'll end up with (and have to pass on to the next generation). The debt's already enormous and had that 2006 - 09 trend continued in the graph above, the debt now would be absolutely colossal.

I think that there's a real lack of personal responsibility at the moment and it's only growing. Everyone has to have the latest thing with no regard to the cost. For many, that's a good alternative to private debt - don't buy shit you can't afford and don't need. @Mëtal Bikër has spoken about it before; there's no concept of luxury any more, just people thinking that because someone they know has the latest phone, car long haul holiday, that they deserve or need the same.
That chart was done to death a while ago on the forum.
Labour borrowing was high in 2008 and 2009 because of the global financial crisis.
If the Tories had then adopted a sensible deficit reduction programme ( rather than the crash and burn policy up to 2012 followed by drug injections to revive the economy) we probably would have eliminated the deficit by now and been reducing the national debt of 1.7tn.

And yet the markets are the weathervane of the economy. They go down when it's about to fall apart.

When the economy falls apart, there's a recession. When there's a recession then the poorest are hit hardest.
So why has food bank use risen since the tories came to power? Why has nurses pay rises been capped at 1%?, why has child poverty doubled in recent years in the uk, why are people being declared fit for work and dying weeks later??? All under a tory government. You can quote the economy and stock and shares all you want, you can smear corbyn at will but the facts are the facts, we are failing the vulnerable and THAT is the sign of a poor country. My idea of strong and stable is very different to yours.

Lord Percy Percy: I've done it, my Lord! I've discovered how to turn things into gold! Pure gold!

Blackadder: You have? Show me!

Lord Percy Percy: [takes lid off melting pot, and Baldrick, Percy and Blackadder are bathed in a green glow] Behold!

Blackadder: Percy... it's green.

Lord Percy Percy: Yes, my Lord!

Blackadder: Now, look, Percy, I don't mean to be pedantic or anything, but the color of gold... is gold. That's why it's called gold. What YOU have discovered, if it has a name, is some... Green.

Lord Percy Percy: [removes lump of Green from pot] Oh, Edmund... can it be true? That I hold here, in my mortal hand, a nugget of purest Green?

Lord Percy Percy: Yes indeed, Percy, except that it's not really a nugget but more of a splat.

Blackadder: Yes, my Lord. A splat today, but tomorrow, who knows, or dares to dream...
I bet its a fun fun night out with you sunshine! To be fair if i was making myself look a bit of a prick id resort to gibberish.
Strong and stable

Well I could go into detail but history tells me you will press that deflector button again so google is your friend if you are that puzzled by the difference. As an act of charity try looking at quotes from balaclava man and his second in command on the Irish issue over many many years. You should find plenty of complementary ones from both of them towards the IRA? Then look up the queens quotes about a **** of a dictator. You will probably find none.

Meeting a twat is sometimes a necessary evil but giving one a full wraparound because you sympathise with him is quite different.

Maybe we should look at Thatcher quotes about Mandela? Then a few pics of him being feted by the great and the good. Or Menachem Begin? Or Emperor Hirohito? The list is endless.

You don't like Corbyn so you choose to smear him with the company he keeps/kept. You could equally see his intervention as the forerunner for open dialogue leading to a political solution, but you choose not to.

In the end it's about you and how you choose see the world, nothing more

Plus the fact I don't recall Her Maj observing a minute's silence when terrorists got slotted.
Corbyn however....

Fun night out? Did you read your own post above, you are the biggest moaning knicker wetter on the forum, get some self awareness and have a beer

Told you didn't I full on deflector button pressed by fumble

But thatcher was bad haha absolute quality. No I don't like a scumbag who has a fondness for people who kill children, you do so well done fella

I have been working and missed the breaking news so can anyone tell me at what time the deceased Margaret thatcher and the queen of England put their names forward to be PM in the coming election. I don't want fumble to blindside me with genghis Khan was a bit of a bastard and is in the running for Tamworth North.

How many people do you know who use food banks regularly, I mean to sustain themselves because of starvation?
Are you a multi millionaire, silver spoon individual who has no concept of poverty or deprivation? Nurses are not on starvation
wages for christ's sake, we have a poster on here who would be glad to earn half of what a nurse gets on qualification.
This feeble and pathetic attempt to paint Britain as some festering shithole with folk dying in the street is laughable,
by all means champion your political choice, but this claptrap is embarassing.

I don't have a fondness for ignorant reactionary blowhards but I tolerate you.

Corbyn however....

He did it for the peace process I believe. Like I said he sucked them off for years not because he supported them but a vision came to him in the night foretelling him about a peace process. To put himself through that for the greater good shows what a great man he is. It's why he pretends to love Hamas. 2024 he solves that one I believe.

That or he is a IRA sympathiser.

Tough one this. What to believe.

Are you Rafa. Facts are facts.

Just returned from a lovely meal with my missus ruined by sitting next to Ryan giggs!!!

Fuck me you need to travel more to see what poverty really is if you think the uk is a poor country. Relative to the world it's quite prosperous.

Aye, and it's a mystery why he didn't include the UDA or unionists in this noble attempt at conciliation.
A real puzzle, that.

You live in a dream.

Voting for Brexit has probably done more for the prospects of a united Ireland than anything Corbyn has ever done.

I don't have a fondness for ignorant reactionary blowhards but I tolerate you.

We can argue about our personal merits all night fella but you actually support a bloke who sympathised with people who killed women and children. Just think about that in your perverse I hate Tories so will back any fucker role you are playing.
