How have we massively underachieved?
you dont think we've underachieved ? Even Pep thinks we have, so a bit of a strange question. You must be the only fan that thinks this season is a success
How have we massively underachieved?
True, we wouldn't have praised Pellers enough for making the right, though difficult, decision to oust one of the most error-prone GKs in Europe this season. I don't think we praise Pep enough for making the right, though difficult, decision either.
Consider for a moment that we were in control of the game until our goalkeeper was sent off. Consider for a moment how any team would be able to handle such a situation against the best attacking lineup in football.
We wouldn't have praised him enough for this decision either, though obviously he didn't have the foresight to make it.
Been Kolarov's best season for years.
Consider for a moment this article is two months old and in those two months Kompany has played almost every game.
Pellegrini did neglect the weaknesses at the back. It was simply not possible to cover all the gaping holes in the squad Pep inherited in one single window
Consider for a moment Pellegrini won 14 trophies in his first 4 years of management alone. Consider for a moment Pellegrini is cited by players (ex and current), managers, pundits and professionals as the best coach in the sport. Consider for a moment Guardiola was brought in as part of a long term project to transform the club, not bring instant but limited success.
Because he is.
Get fucked with this vapid, click-baity bullshit whataboutism.
I think it's worse than that. Nothing wrong with statements like "I have learnt lessons". The problem is - what are they? Straight after he was quoted saying "I have learnt lessons" - the very next game he brought Bravo back and played Kolarov in the middle. So I would love to know what he has learnt. In this decade before this season we had the best record in the Premier League - which is 5 or 6 years. And we had a number of players (despite the "ageing squad") that would get in any other Premier Lge sideHe hasn't done enough to deserve the bullet but the endless talk about I have learnt, I will be a better manager for the experience, suggests he sees his whole football management career as some sort of self improvement course. Frankly we are paying big bucks to bring in a manger to get the team playing better, not to improve him.
Pep fans, like loads of United fans, are fond of the History channel!

Well let's hope we never find out but if he fails again he'll be gone (he'll probably walk), but if he goes I think Taxiki and Sorriano will also be gone too.Ahhhh its pragmatism bingo time.
As for Pep being sacked.......dont hold your breath lol
You almost get the feeling that some City fans almost want him to fail, just so they can say "I told you so".
Do you want him gone?
If so who do you want in as replacement?
If not will you be supporting him and does that make you a Pep fan?

I am not impressed so far but do not want him gone. Await, next season to see if he reaches his full potential!
Impressive. Please describe the Emperor's new clothes, I cannot see any!
Bayern and Barcelona are perpetual champions who are way ahead of their opponents. They dominate their leagues. City had just finished 4th on 66 points in a shambolic season. Mancini's team was on it's last legs and Guardiola now has to do a rebuilding job. It's a totally different situation to the task facing Pellegrini when he first arrived...basically he had a title-winning team who just needed re-organising - the same situation as Conte walked into at Chelsea.Add some context and I don't see any issue with Pep's comments. In fact, it sounds like he appreciates being afforded a second chance. Be fascinating to see what shape we're in and where we are this time next season.

The goalkeeping transfer blew up in our faces and Kompany got injured and that was very costly.
If you look at the squad which Guardiola inherited and then deduct a first choice keeper, and your captain and central defender, you're not left with very much. We've operated for most of the season with a make-shift defence where midfielders and wingers have been employed at full back. We do look a much better team with Kompany back, Willy settled n goal, and Navas, or Fernandinho at right back, and Clichy left back, but for 3/4 of the season we were without Kompany and the defence changed every week as Guardiola searched for a solution. There wasn't one. We need Kompany, and alongside him Stones or Otamendi look much better players.
He didnt handle the Yaya thing very well though, and he's been class since he came back in
Difference between underachieved and massively, turn those home draws into wins, beat Arsenal, don't concede that free kick in Monaco, would we have under acheived then ? Not for me, so yes we have under achieved but by fine margins not 'massively'.you dont think we've underachieved ? Even Pep thinks we have, so a bit of a strange question. Delusional. As I say, let's hope we never find out and Pep learns the lessons of this season.Nope, nope and nope.
They will not be sacked and they won't walk either.
