Pep: I would have been sacked at Barca or Bayern.

Ever since the your infatuation with Pellegrini ended you really are head over heels for Pep...

I know.

At some point in the future i will realise my support for a double winning manager was sheer folly and will hang my head in shame and my excitement and gratitude for now having the best manager in world football at the club will have me so embarrassed, i will probably just close the curtains and never leave the house again.

Until then though........

Stop worrying about our spend.

Liverpool have spent a £Billion since the PL inception and guess what?

Fuck all to show for it.

Not quite. While they have not won the PL as you correctly state in that period they have won 2 FA Cups, 4 LC, 1 UEFA cup as well as the Champions League. So while I am sure they would like to have done better saying it is fuck all shows a lack of scientific method on your part!

If you watch the video, he winks to the journalist and says 'there's your headline for tomorrow'
Why would any of the foaming at the mouth nobheads bother watching a video that gives context when they can go batshit at quotes from twitter.

Maybe he's having a dig at Barca and Bayern being too big with unrealistic targets season after season. Instead of sacking a manager back him and watch him try and put things right. If we win the league next season he can point to those comments and say see I was backed and now were winning.

We lost a lot of points through Pep playing the defence, most of whom are going now. Had he no faith in the youngsters? Could they have done any worse?

Not a "BIG" manager yet in my opinion!

They crave the league. All fans crave the league as its the benchmark with anything else just the cherry on top of the cake.

All that money spent and no doubt more this summer and no luck whatsoever.

Every club in this league now spends huge sums so why its only ever an issue as far as we are concerned i just dont know, especially when we have something to show for it.

There are huge sums and huge sums. United, Chelsea and us are the huge spenders with Arsenal and Liverpool some way behind. Frankly United's spending has been embarrassing, making some of Txiki's purchases look sensible. However Chelsea's ability to sack managers regularly while still winning trophies on a constant basis suggests that they have spent better than the rest.

I read the full thing last night and thought it came across more as a compliment to us and a criticism of the "big" clubs. I do think there's also a bit of having English as a second language and not fully understanding the context certain things will be taken in too.

It reads to me more like an admittance on his part that he has underachieved this season rather than solely blaming the players, which is exactly what I want him to be saying.

Get a grip! We've had a better league campaign this season, okay we expected more but we have still been better than last season. He's not even been in the job 12 months yet, give him time.

?????? We finished 4th won the league cup and reached the semis of the chumps league!

how have we bettered that this season????

Its not what you know but who you know!

Consider for a moment that Manuel Pellegrini had presided over some of the decisions made and results delivered this season by Pep Guardiola.

This, after all, is a man who was publicly slapped down by City chairman Khaldoon al-Mubarak at the end of a season when the club reached the Champions League semi-finals, finished in the top four of the Premier League and won the League Cup.

“I think all of us came with high expectations for this season,” al-Mubarak said last June. “I think, at the end of the day, I cannot hide the disappointment of myself, obviously Sheikh Mansour, I know the fans of the club and I’m sure the entire team”.

Whats that in last 25 years?

Bobby doesn't say such thing.
yes we know City are not in the same league with Barca or Bayern, yet.
but those statements from Pep doesn't benefit him at all with the fans.

Well for a start I said we'd had a better league campaign which is an indication of how we've performed across the whole season. However, most importantly, i've watched the football we've played this season with my own 2 eyes and it's been streets ahead of the half arsed, sometimes fully not arsed performances that were given to us last season.

If we're comparing Champions League performances, we were knocked out on away goals to one of the best teams in Europe this season. Whereas we played Dinamo Kiev at that point last season!

As for the cups, if not for some shocking officiating we'd be in a Cup final this season but we were robbed.

More points in a more competitive league. We got to the semis of the CL thanks to a favourable draw and didn't muster a shot when we played a "big" team.

We should hopefully finish third and not scrape through thanks to West Ham doing us a huge favour in the last ten minutes of a match against our rivals.
