It's Quiet - a new dawn

To win the league and CL its important to have players whose names are 'hot'. Some people say where will Sanchez play. He will play where ever we need him to play. Or Even Bernando Silva for that matter. We have no squad depth now. Look at any CL favorite team and their bench and look at ours.

I think you're right that we haven't been hugely embarrassed the exceptions being Hazard and Sandro in so far as we got to the table but wouldn't pay the price or agents fees etc. but other than that we were looking at the right players but couldn't get deals done

Hazard chose Chelsea. The myth making around that transfer is amazing.

So a prediction of extraordinary summer is on a wane. As the transfer window approaches our link to great players are on a wane. Hope we sign sanches at least.

I'd consider Alex Sandro, one of the best left backs in football, to be a pretty extraordinary signing if it happened, wouldn't you? Walker and Sanchez are arguably the best in the PL at their positions too.

Mbappe was always a target only if Kun was leaving, and that was never a gimme.

Sanchez won't happen, either he'll stay back at Arsenal or join Bayern Munich.

What makes you think that?

We need the best players available in the positions were buying for.

this guy seems very raggish in his posts? been reading them with interest and always seems to put his down?

This is incredibly backward thinking. If you win the CL or get close then the names if whoever is playing for you become 'hot'.

We need a better first team and foundation before we can think about pepping up the squad with superstars on the bench, that means some less sensational names for a while. We won't be able to get on the same level as Real/Barca/Bayern/Juve this window regardless, their squads have taken years to assemble, we're only just beginning to rebuild ours now.

To be honest I'm excited for a transfer window where it looks like we won't just sign forwards and playmakers, but have a bigger focus on addressing actual problems.

Spot on

No more Mister Nice Guy - Khaldoon is coming out swinging.

I suppose it's his reputation is on the line also. We really will not see its like again (probably invent new rules for us)

We could do with 3 top full backs with one who can play either side like Henrichs, but it seems to have gone quiet regarding him.

Henrichs is good, but raw. I think his potential going forward is established, but coming back not so much. He'd represent a gamble this summer and it seems the club is remiss to take any risks, particularly at positions which are absolutely essential to Pep's game (full-backs for example)

I'd like a Henrichs too, but unless he was willing to be squad depth for either side (which he could do in fairness) I can't imagine we'd be in on him, especially when a club like the dippers could just offer him a starting XI slot as the Arses did with Kolasinac.

Has the day finally come where Khaldoon is not being nice anymore? Great news. Time that he showed the world that City is not to be messed with.
