Form didn't drop, SZ say Kimmich believes Carlo doesn't trust him and potentially see's him as Pep's player. The article above mentions that Kimmich views his time on the bench as wasted and could foresee a similar situation next year, which he isn't willing to accept (understandable as it could affect his standing on a national level also)

In short: he's had a falling out with Ancelotti for one reason or another and wants out.

Edit: this much has been obvious since FFT interviewed him on his birthday earlier in the year. He spoke highly of Pep and his style, but little of Carlo.
